Released this Monday. Hopefully it will be the same price in store, appears to be at least £12 everywhere else. Worth checking Fopp as could be £7 or even £6 in store.
No doubt an Amazon (£8.99) price match will follow shortly (currently listed as £14.77).
One of the most powerful crime dramas of all time is hotter than ever! This all-new 2-Disc Director's Definitive Edition of HEAT features a pristine restoration personally supervised by Michael Mann, plus hours of revealing extras, including in-depth Q&As with the director as he reflects on the film two decades after its initial release. Academy Award Winners Al Pacino* and Robert De Niro** square off in this ground-breaking cat-and-mouse thriller written and directed by Michael Mann. The personal lives of a brilliant thief (De Niro) and an obsessive L.A. cop (Pacino) intertwine-and quickly unravel-as the criminal plans his final heist. Co-starring Val Kilmer, Jon Voight, Tom Sizemore and Ashley Judd, HEAT sizzles with hard-hitting action and gripping suspense.

They don't seem to do that anymore. Every I have asked they just suggest I send it back for a refund and buy it again.

None in HMV Bluewater either. I'll have to buy mine again from Amazon as I paid £11.90 for the copy I received today.

Slightly more reasonably priced now near release. Near £15 was a bit rich. I'm broke atm but it's a must buy. (eventually) It is ever so slightly overlong but its a mighty mighty film so it doesnt matter.

What? It was probably filmed on 35mm which can range from 4k levels of detail all the way to 8k. This is probably more like what you saw at the cinema than anything else prior.

You essentially did see it in HD as it would have been a copy of the film shot in 35mm projected onto the cinema screen you saw it on.

You didn't see it in the cinema in standard definition. You would've seen it projected through a 35mm print, which is actually far superior than 4K (although this BD is a 4K remaster, delivered in 1080p). This BD is currently the best possible way to watch HEAT in your home...and it's cheaper than a cinema ticket.
Heat for Heat. In my top 3 all time classics. Two legends on screen. And the shoot out is the best action scene i've ever seen.

Am I the only one that found this movie rather overlong and a little overrated? Sure the shootout sequence and the head to head scene are very good, but the rest of it? Not so much so, like some other Michael Mann movies it thinks it's more interesting than it actually is and could do with a bit of a trimming.
