Plumbing & Drainage Plus
If you are a homeowner, you are responsible for the upkeep and repair of the plumbing and drainage system within your home*1 and generally responsible for the repair to the water supply pipe, from your property boundary up to where it enters your home. In some cases this responsibility may be outside the property boundary or shared with neighbouring properties. With such complex systems, if you experienced a problem such as a burst pipe or a blocked drain, it could be expensive to put right. That's why Severn Trent is introducing you to HomeServe to bring you Plumbing & Drainage Plus, for just £6 in the first year.
With Plumbing & Drainage Plus, major emergencies such as burst pipes or blocked drains and minor repairs like dripping taps are all taken care of. In an emergency, there would be no need to search for a plumber, it would take just one call to HomeServe's 24-hour, UK based helpline to arrange assistance. Plus, there would be no repair bill or excess to pay within the generous claims limit.
This limited offer of £6 in the first year ends on 24th April 2017. Any applications received after this date will be processed at £12 in the first year.

In my case they replaced my kitchen mixer tap with their stock Bristan one. So they definitely carry mixers too normally!

Hmmmm... What cover do you have? Bristan is a decent brand too!

Called them out a few weeks ago and great service.
Re sink tap replacements, he would have replaced mine if I had a new 1 to hand. They do replace single taps themselves (non mixers) as they have stock in their car.
P.S. I don't think the workers know whether you have a fully covered policy or 1 just for leaks etc.

The previous time this offer came up (about a year ago?) I am sure someone did the "start a new contract in name of spouse" trick to keep getting the special offer price

I'm also curious if anyone's taken this out in another name. My renewal came in at 96.48, but they have offered to reduce it to 54£. Very good offer, but not as good as 6£ lol.

So they'll repair leaks in a shower waste pipe??? This is classed as 'within your plumbing n drainage system on your property' I guess?

good deal - I took on this policy at the end of last year (for the same price), mainly to get a leaky drain in my kitchen (you have to wait 14 days before to make a claim). The engineer turned up, fixed the problem, all of it for £6! and I have unlimited call out... bargain!

I did this last year too. Fixed a toilet for me, so was worth the cost. Thumbs up from me.

So that's most of inner London not covered then!

I took this offer and it expired in December. They fixed my toilet leak no problems so well worth the £6.
Wondering if I could take it out again or would be disqualified.

Surprisingly no. They had a basic model in the van they were willing to install as part of the procedure. I would have taken it but it was too low for me. Instead they told me I was at liberty to buy my own and they'd return to fit it as part of the original call out. I suspect my story may be an aberration and I got the one decent plumber but these things rarely happen in a vacuum

Tried them last year, they were good enough to fix my leaking kitchen mixer tap by installing a new one at their expense. Naturally I left before the renewal, the better to savour the cheapness...

That's a real bargain! Do u buy the new replacement tap before making the call out?

Waste of money been there and got robbed by them, the policy isnt worth £6 as they probably wont fix anything,i only called them out once to a burst pipe, refused to fix it under some clause.

I've had this cover for a few years now and always get some sort of discount from the offer price.I was offered this price by post this year at renewal time and when i rang them they told me it was for new customers only.

Stay away from them - been paying premiums for years. Had two issues (heat pump and blending valve) in the last two months and guess what - neither is covered despite that fact we then had no heating or hot water.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS AWFUL COMPANY!! yes they are cheap but their service is absolutely shockingly terrible I have been left without any heating and hot water over xmas and new year they send engineers who do not know what the problem is and have created more probs/faults and fully messed the boiler have not provided any heaters which they supposed to!! phone lines are terrible youre waiting ages nobody orders the part that is required and an engineer came to my property and knocked off elec circuit board which meant boiler went off they've caused me to be poorly living in cold house and they would NOT pay to go to alternative accomodation!! Homeserve have been fined so many times which if you search for on here you will find it! I am warning others stay AWAY FROM HOMESERVE!!!!

I purchased this last time the deal came up, same price 50p per month for a year. Called them out for a toilet which kept blocking and overfilling when flushed (even if it had not been used) and they sorted it in one visit. Was worth the £6 just for that.

8 Feb 17#2
Is it even worth that? I mean you buy this to feel like someone has your back completely so if you have a burst pipe outside in the middle of your driveway are they gonna dig to replace it for £6?
A dripping sink maybe but what about the big costs like a burst pipe inside a wall that needs to be traced?

That's how insurance works. You would not be paying £6, all the people who don't claim will be covering the full cost. Be aware that soakaways are not covered.

They unblocked my drain last summer, for the princely sum of 50p (that month's payment).
Can't fault them. I'll be renewing at the enhanced price next month.

Thanks OP. Didn't get chance to take this deal on wife's name in December after having it for a year on mine. Was a bit concerned it was only available for customers in Severn/Trent area but looking at the Terms & Conditions it did talk about properties in Scotland coming under Scottish Laws so assume it's all good

Cost shouldn't be the only deciding factor. should consider service. Homeserve in past has received poor reviews and fines - Homeserve was fines £30.9m by FCA in 2014. now under witter by Aviva. Recent article in Gardian where home owners warned of price hikes if make a claim.

I took it out last year but have not needed to use it and the renewal notice has just come it @ £96.48. Will be cancelling.
