Don't know if this is a good deal for some. I unfortunately can't afford the new Backbeat Pro 2 headphones but noticed that these are just under £100 so I have decided to purchase these. I'm not too sure of the difference between this and the earlier Backbeat Pro model. Standard delivery is from £3.49.

Description.

Get lost in rich, lifelike music from your computer and mobile device, making every moment your own with Backbeat PRO+. With extended, Class 1 Bluetooth range and up to 24 hours of continuous wireless use, you're going to need a longer playlist.

Bring your music to life

Bluetooth in many computers wasn’t designed for music and headphones. The BackBeat PRO+ and high-fidelity Bluetooth USB adapter deliver the brilliant audio detail of your music, movies, and videos when you use your computer as your entertainment hub. With up to 24 hours of continuous streaming, power-saving features, and non-stop listening with the optional cable, you’re going to need a longer playlist.

Experience a personal concert

Our signature audio performance delivers all the rich bass, crisp highs, and natural midtones of your music and media. Slip on the exceptional comfort and find refuge in a noisy world. Whether working, traveling, or just relaxing, switch on the active noise cancelling (ANC) to block out the noise and turn a long flight, open office layout, or noisy café into a private concert.

Never miss a beat

Wander up to 330ft/100m away from your paired phone or tablet thanks to Class 1 Bluetooth 4.0 technology, controlling your experience using easy-to-find on-ear buttons and familiar-feeling dials. Listen to a movie on your computer and quickly answer a call without removing your headphones or reaching for your phone. When it’s time to leave, slip these fold-flat headphones into the slim travel sleeve.

I'm keeping mine. Did think to sell it, but it's a really useful thing to have. Headphones were a bargain in any case.

Love how it connects instantly to laptops/pcs.

heh, that does make this a much better deal!

The noise isn't a dealbreaker for me. I've also noticed there is a very faint noise from the left ear when it's completely silent, which I assume is the power circuitry as it sounds like an inductor. it pulses every couple of seconds

I think the headphones are permanently paired to the BT600 because slot 1 is the one that gets changed every time you pair to a different dongle. There's probably a way to make them forget slot 2 though

I'm still not too thrilled with the popping noises but I've just sold the bluetooth adapter for 40 quid on Ebay which makes the headphones a proper bargain so I'm happy enough

I connected it to my laptop yesterday and didn't have any issues.

I've just got my pair and they do like all other wireless headphones - which is make a click/pop noise when it cuts out after music input stops. You also get background hum which you can hear when you have the volume down

I don't know why no company has bothered to fix this, it must be possible. These are £209 on amazon, and the adapter is £70 if you want it separate. I'm not sure these headphones are worth that much!

The range from the class 1 adapter is almost exactly the same as my cheap $2 dongle from china which also has aptX with the CSR harmony software. Sound quality is exactly the same but the included dongle has a bit more bass, they probably tweaked it.

Has anyone else compared bluetooth vs cabled? They sound 50% better when using a cable, much fuller sound and more bass overall.

They're not really full over-ear either unless you have very small ears

so the USB fob works with my PS4, pretty cool

10 Feb 17 #87
Thanks for that... Fair enough, I'll just have to pay the full price then send them my original 86 quid invoice for a refund of the difference ☺
ianbeany
10 Feb 17 #86
Cheers buddy. Tried that but doesn't seem to help.
ianbeany
10 Feb 17 #85
I have yeah. I've also done a bit googling and tried some of the fixes suggested for similar sorts of problems but no luck. There's no way of getting rid of it it seems.

Another strange thing is the super duper £50 BT600 performs rubbish for me - the sound starts breaking up in the next room whereas my cheap 2 quid adapter off ebay covers the whole house no problem (the noises are there with both devices btw)

Thanks for offering to try it yourself. Much appreciated.

I've had BT headphones that pop when you stop sending audio input through them. Try setting the PC or phone volume high and the on-headphone volume low.

Have you upgraded the firmware?

I haven't connected them to a laptop/desktop yet, but will try and see if the same happens.

Yes I got mine delivered. Even after the woman on the phone quoted £187 for 2 pairs they charged my credit card full price. I had to phone back and get the difference refunded.

10 Feb 17 #81
Maybe 'popping' would be a better word to describe the noise...

Hopefully someone knows what I'm going on about
ianbeany
10 Feb 17 #80
Im not really sure how to describe it but does anyone elses make a cracking/clicky noise in Windows 10? It does it when you move the volume slider and when you pause or stop/start music. It even does it when you switch them on and you hear the womans voice.

Its REALLY irritating. My other few pairs of much cheaper buetooth headphones dont do it. There's probaly a proper word to describe the noises but Ive no idea what it is

Dont think i can put up with it tbh, anyone know how easy it will be to return them to BT Shop?

9 Feb 17 #79
Did you ever get yours? I rang again today and they're insisting on charging me the full amount for the headphones... Still a decent price but not as good as 86 quid.

9 Feb 17 #78
Agree with poisondwarf. Just received these and the sound is amazing. I know it's an old cliche but I can hear sounds and voices in my music which were simply missing from my old headphones.
Sending the 7 day shop noise cancelling headphones back.
Only issue, is they that are so big, you need to turn your head sideways when going through doorways.

My Word!
If there was ever a purchase I have made and then subsequently regretted....it certainly isnt this!
I am not an audiophile, and i have only used cheap headphones previously. These are just amazing
As a poster said above, its hard not to want to play these at full volume due to their gorgeous sound.
Thanks op.....£99.99 plus postage is a bargain.

Finally got home after work and am still playing with my headphones or is that listening...

They sound really good family's impressed. I cant really compare them to any others as I haven't used any decent pair. The range and clarity is brilliant, can't wait to try them on the train tomorrow with anc enabled.

They are huge though... and some may find them a little heavy.

Picked them up after work.

What a package overall from Plantronics. Everything from the packaging to the contents is shouting premium.

Giving them a good run out at the moment with all types of genres. Sounding fabulous so far. Great clarity, ranges and depth.

Been waiting forever for the Sony MDR-100ABN's to drop in price so many thanks for the OP for posting.

Got onto BT, they cancelled the PayPal payment and charged me £187 for the 2 sets. One was on their system as the original price of £104 delivered and the other was the £83 with no delivery cost as they paired both sets together.

I have since had a dispatch notice so they must have been kept for us.

Mine arrived this morning even though I just had the normal delivery at £3.

Awesome bit of kit, tested side by side with my Bose qc25 and the noise cancellation is close to the Bose, probably 80% of what the Bose cuts out these do to. Considering these are £100 and the Bose equivalent are £270 it's just not worth the extra £170!?

Not to mention my favourite feature of all... auto pause when headphones are removed and auto resume when you put them back on. That's just brilliant!

Back at £99 but £6.98 delivery to a Highland address. Seems if I add a £7.26 very fast SD card it reduces postage back to £3.49, but if I add a £5.65 one the postage goes up to £12.98. Very strange.

Update - bought with an SD card ... was kinda needing one anyway.

Excellent choice.
You don't actually need the extra BT600 as Bluetooth is already built into the headphones and most computers etc have Bluetooth built in, but the dongle is a far more convenient and powerful way of connecting it to your computer and will offer significantly improved sound quality and range.
I've been using my Backbeat Pro (not plus) headphones with my various Bluetooth devices (phones, PC, Amazon 4K, TV) flawlessly for months now. They really are great headphones, right up there with ones that cost more than twice the price.

I got some of these a year ago, absolutely brilliant sound it blew my mind. The noise cancelling is awesome and they are mega comfortable. 2 Feb 17 #19
It's a hi-fi Bluetooth USB dongle. Just plug it in and it's pre-paired to your headphones, making an immediate connection which bypasses the computer's sound card and guarantees the best possible sound quality.
I believe it's going to be updated to a high resolution high bitrate Bluetooth connection at some point too.
loz_the_guru
2 Feb 17 #18
I'd be interested in how comfortable these are? My regular headphones are HD700s and I love how I can almost forget I'm wearing them. I had a pair of Sony Bluetooth over ear ones (950bt?) but found them to be pretty uncomfortable over time. How well do these go round your lugs?
Goopster
2 Feb 17 1 #17
These are currently £199 on Amazon - the £135 ones are the non 'plus' version - which I have ; and as others say, they are a fantastic piece of kit - great sound quality, fantastic battery life and some great features like auto pause when you remove them. Highly recommended, especially as this is for the 'plus' edition with the Bluetooth adapter.

Ordered thanks, I was debating spending more on bose or sony but I had a pair of the non + version and they were great. Enough bass and detail was great for my untrained ears. I had mine for 10 months before the pads started to rip, I did wear them daily for work calls so heavy usage but was still happy with them.

They are good. Brother in law was in same boat. I gave him my pair to try, he was convinced straight away and bought a pair. BBPro have a bassier meatier sound than the bose. Bose is slightly anaemic in comparison but not bad by any means. BBPro are q chunky but earcups fold the correct way so they sit nicely when around your neck - Google the pics. Bose have better noise cancelling and are lighter I believe. Depends what u want. Bose if u have the cash and travel a lot possibly. BBPro for Bluetooth range, bassier/warmer sound and also the brilliant auto on/off feature.

superb headphones......gave them to my bro when earpads wore away......he promptly fixed them......and I feel like a mug  . These cans are just brill with a superb feature set.....now looking at the new sonys mdr 100's / 1000's or the jbl everest elite 700.....word of warning, not ever buy the Creative evo zxr's, as they promise so much but deliver so little and Creative's customer services is the worst I have ever experienced......had to involve PayPal, which I have never had to do before......

Best BT headphones I have heard to date and I have had the QC35 as well. The NC is better on the Bose but they cost almost 3 times as much. Sound is much better than Bose and the sensors work great to. When you take them off they stop playback and so forth. Active noise cancelling for the microphone array is awesome too. The backbeat pro 2 are being released hence they shift these but you cannot go wrong with this set. Battery life is like 20h at least. Would buy again without hesitation.

I got one of them for 2 years now and if You thinking about noise cancelling headphones you can't go wrong with them ! Maybe they are bit too bulky but I love them since day one :-) had many headphones before and was looking for something special. Had Bose QC3 for a year but changed them for This Back beat Pro and that was best choice :-) Bluetooth range is 100 m and battery last forever. Good materials and 2 years warranty. Noise cancelling works perfect and bass is so deep ! Additionally those extra features like music pause when you get them off. Great product !
