Submitted several times in the past but for what it is I don't think you'll find a better freebie.
All you need is your barcode! Free, weekly, accurately timed 5k runs/jogs/races for all. The runs take place on a Saturday morning (junior runs take place on a Sunday).

Yes it is. But will you get an official time that will appear on power of 10? Will you run on an officially measured 5k marshalled route?

These are a bit different though, it's great to run among others, really encourages you to keep going and improve.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful, it's a really nice social gathering of like-minded people all looking to improve, whether elite runners or on your first ever run / walk.
It's all organised really well, and free timing every week so you can keep track of your progress and that of others if you wish.
Give it a go just once, and I guarantee you'll be back many times

What a great idea.
I started running in October 2016 and already ran half-a-marathon in January (in Marrakech, Morroco). It was a great experience and a life changer to the better.
I will definitely be joining these runs on Saturday mornings. Thanks very much for sharing.

Been doing these since beginning of January. Great community of people; young and old, fast and slow...everyone is welcome. Make sure you sign up and print off your barcode so you can record your time each week. Do it!

Just completed my fist ParkRun at the weekend and I loved it. What a great idea and motivator to get people moving. Volunteer lead and organised, brilliant.
