Great way to do pancake day on the cheap. Both Asda and Tesco do a batter mix for just 15p which will make 6 pancakes. Been using this for years, works a dream and pancakes are lovely.
Morrisons also do their own one for 22p.

Buy a 40p bag of plain or SR flour, use 4 heaped tablespoons, one egg, milk til smooth batter and sugar or salt to your taste...come on people. Add whatever you like to that simple combo!

come on peeps make your own. how will our children ever learn to cook if everythings straight out of a packet. let them see the ingredients, have fun weighing and mixing and see the finished results. I hate crepes but love pancakes

Er - so it's a few ounces of flour and a pinch of salt then!

there's simply no need to add salt or sugar - you're going to add a filling, right?
time to cut out excess salt & sugar, folks

Yes, although uk flour will have the same added ingredients as the pancake mix which apparently actually uses skimmed milk but at least OTOH it's been assembled by you not in a factory, but much more expensive.

This... I don't even use scales anymore, just go by eye.
I got a tip from old crinkle face Ramsey, add a couple of teaspoons of oil to the mix to make the pancakes crispier.

Add a few drops of vanilla essence to the batter to make them taste better (in my opinion)

I hold my hands up and say I honestly can't make pancakes I try every year an they never go right!! I've used ingredients and the just add milk ones an they never turn out right, always have to buy ready made ones which aren't very nice :disappointed:

Maybe but this is for "I want now and easy to do".
People now days can't be bothered to engage the brain even for the basics in food preparation.
Would love to see the faces of the 'now people" if we were in a bad situation, like a war and they had to eat what was slopped on thier plates.

This is a bag of flour and dried milk, you have to add egg and water so, realistically most people would or I would hope they would have a bag of flour, and milk at home so make your own

If they're sticking to the pan, it's probably more to do with the pan than the batter
