this specs and such price for a cellphone with no special attraction points, i don't see why Lenovo zuk has any potential in making itself a popular cell phone model

Can this be rooted to install a UK ROM with google play store? The fact that some people have bricked their z2's scares me a little
It's recoverable. The problem you're talking about is hugely because of modem flashing. I wouldn't even bother with such a thing on this phone.

Can anyone who owns this confirm if it has an fm radio?

This doesn't support LTE band 20 (800MHz), so 4G coverage on many (all?) UK networks will not be as good as other handsets. Band 20 is used a lot outside London as the networks can cover larger areas more quickly, hence better for less well populated areas.
Going to add some heat anyway, as it's a pretty good deal for a snapdragon 820 phone.

This phone is available in international version with B20. So why buy this one made for China with Tde Lte and no B20. Negative

FYI, I got one a few months back from Banggood and I get fast 4G/4G+ access in East Kent on EE. It’s an absolutely fantastic phone for this price. Considering you spend the same amount of money on a Motorola G5 for this, there’s really no contest.
The single button works really, really well and the installed ROM is perfectly alright for general use. The only thing really missing is NFC for Android Pay, but I’m not going to hold that against it at this price.

Where from mate?, and for how much also?, thanx. :-)
Probably with the dodgy Chinese malware ridden shop ROM. Play store crashes alot. Just follow the instructions and install the Indian ROM which is pretty much stock and malware free.

Hot, especially considering how some Chinese-made phones rob people for similar specs -- iPhone 7 (4.7"/ 3GB /32GB) has way lower resolution of 1334x750 and weighs almost the same as this Lenovo, but costs nearly 5 x).

Bought this for my better half to replace her knackered Z3 Compact. Bought it through Gearbest and it came pre-installed with Play Store which works fine. After 2 months, my only gripe is the quality of photos in low light conditions. Day light photos are fantastic though.

Bought this a few months ago and absolutely loved it - definitely is a steal if it works, which unfortunately mine didn't after a month. The phone would stop picking up any network, I think the phone's radio just shut down and wouldn't pick any signal at all. Tried my sim in different phones and it was fine. I've tried factory resets to no avail, anyone know anything that may help? Would reflashing it help, or would a phone shop be able to fix the issue?

Given its non-functional if I were you I'd certainly flash a new rom - if nothing else just to rule out software.
If its still fubar I'd hope that any decent phone shop would be able to diagnose failed radio hardware pretty easily.

I'd love to buy this phone...been watching it for a while. But how can I be sure it doesn't contain any malware? It doesn't seem to be coming direct from the manufacturer's outlet (unlike the Note 4 offer that's current hot), and I've read a lot about the malware added to Chinese phones, including those added by re-sellers.

Thanks for the reply. I'll do as you said, will flash a new rom when I have some time and if not, take it to the shop to see what they say.
Worst case scenario I have an MP3 player / iPod touch for £130, still decent value for money I reckon
