Thanks for making that clear, it was most subtle.

Even Richer Sounds don't recommend Sony AV Receivers, they have so many problems with them. I myself will be returning my str1060, to replace for a Denon or Onkyo

Not much has changed in amplifiers analogue side in the last 10 years, this will have more features etc, but will distort at high load.

Couple of comments about HDCP 2 and 2.2....does this have everything needed for now.
Can I plug all things into this...TV, Bluray, Apple TV, Sky box and just forget about it...made the mistake a couple of years ago buying an all in one home cinema system whihc only had one HDMI input

Im actually planning to upgrade my amp but not with this one.
I think these days you need bluetooth connection for a start (better if its got Wifi actually).
IMO the YAMAHA RXV381 is much better for £219 and thats the most basic i would even consider even if im on a budget.
This product is like leaping back in the past in a way.
Im voting cold as i this product will satisfy only basic needs these days.

Yeah it's ideal, seems pretty well featured for £150.
A couple years ago the elephant in the room was the lack of HDCP 2.2 support but we're through the worst of it with AV receivers... for now

I've got a 4k TV and blu ray player I'd like to run to my big floor speakers. The connections on my TV are hdmi (2.2, ARC, 10BIT, MHL), optical and RGB. So this wouldn't be a good buy for me?

I've finally entered your realm of AV Receivers after picking up a second hand Harman Kardon AV171 last week. I assumed as it had two HDMI's out it would output different sources to each but it simply mirrors them :disappointed:
Anybody know of or care to recommend one with two seperate HDMI out's please? Thanks a lot.
Oh, and am I right in saying Onkyo is just a re-branded Technika?!

Nope... HDMI 2.1 is on the way  It won't be mass market for quite a while though.
It has loads more bandwidth for higher resolutions and refresh rates which is useful for PC gaming.

Opening post
Just picked one up. Excellent quality as usual and great out-of-menu basic controls on the remote (such as treble, bass adjustment).
£30 cheaper than last Black Friday pricing.
