Completely agree. The Smart box is better in my opinion as includes free view so pretty seamless going from Freeview to NowTV.
I've so far had 6 months of Movies, entertainment and Kids for a total of £41 (that's including 2 boxes) next 6 months should cost no more than £20 I would have thought so a bargain.

Can some kind soul please advise if there's loads more available than what's currently on offer with my Virgin full package?
Think all I don't get is Sky Atlantic?
Got movie channel, so would I just be wasting my money if I got both of these? Usually use Now TV thru the app on TV, when I've used a £1 two week trial offer in the past, so no need for the box?

Depends how much you're paying for all that. Most people appear to be getting what they need with the likes of this, but at far less the cost of Virgin/Sky etc. Just needs a little more leg work to keep on top of the offers, renew etc. (although from my limited experience with Now TV so far, seems to be easy through web etc.

I'm tempted to get this great offer but I think I'll wait until there is a good deal with a v3 box.

22 Feb 17#50

abhijitdash123

NCIS
22 Feb 17#52
Usually 12 months. But don't know exactly how they can know when the boxes and passes are sold.
Also read of people with expired cards going on the Now TV chat and they have activated the code, as long as it was not already used.
ashopaholic123
22 Feb 17#53
Usually last 12 months. I've got 1 to put on in April when my current 1 runs out, that I got on offer last time. Will be putting today's away till after that. So do last a while and worth getting when on offer.

Yes, you can have the same account on up to 4 boxes, so there's absolutely no reason to not justify having 4 codes from buying those 4 boxes
mocmocamoc
22 Feb 171#61
I've had about 12 boxes so far, they don't care. Yes you can have both movies and entertainment on one account and use that account on 4 boxes (watching 2 at a time). I gave a box to my parents.

22 Feb 171#62
Yes, that would be nice, especially with week or month passes.

We've used NOWTV for the last 6 months (entertainment package) and we have just cancelled. The picture quality was really quite poor compared to Netflix and are were really unhappy that they will often only show, for example seasons 3 and 6 and not the other seasons which we found really frustrating as we like to watch show in the correct order so we get the full story line.
ibblackberry1
23 Feb 17#94
And if you cancel, and say it's two expensive, they offer you 4 months movies for £3.99 a month. (Or at least they did for me and a few others here). Better deal if u don't want another box that u won't get round to using/selling.
ibblackberry1
23 Feb 171#95
Its personal preference. My parents like to pay for the service that they use and see the kodi addons as eroding the industry and effectively stealing. They also don't want their WiFi connected with illegal torrents or the whole grey area of streaming copyright infringing material from kodi addons.
They can afford a fiver a month and they love the now TV movie service so they happily pay it along with sky (non movies).
To be fair, if everyone used free kodi addons and no one used sky etc etc or went to movies, then the industry would be dead, nothing would be produced.
So you should encourage people to pay and everyone else can enjoy this grey area Merry go round for another few years.

I'm with sky at the moment and I'm coming to the end of my contract in may/June time if I purchased these now can I redeem them then or do I have to do so immediately ?
markrduk
23 Feb 17#98
No you got 12 months to redeem. If you get the box, sign up for a 14 day free trial (remember to cancel it so you're not charged!) while sky is active and see what you think.
If you decide you're not keen, just sell the box and the code and you'll probs make your money back.

For the best, uninterrupted service, you should wait unitl there are fewer than 30 days to go until the end of your current pass - then apply this code.
Crossbow
23 Feb 17#112
Only with the more expensive Smart box (links below as examples only as you may get them cheaper elsewhere), you can pause and rewind live TV channels for up to 30 minutes.
On all other devices (including the one in this offer), you can only pause, rewind or fast-forward on demand movies and shows, which this offer is for - so yes to your query.

Not stupid at all. Yes, all can be done over the Wi-Fi (although powerline adapters are preferable/more reliable if a wired ethernet connection is not possible).

"Watch out" I bought a NOW TV setup with 3 months free entertainment. Exactly one month later £9.99 was taken from my bank account. They had access because they said it was necessary to give account details to prove my age, which seemed strange. There are no subtitles, only on BBC programs, and it's rather difficult to operate the remote, it doesn't help because it jumps 2 or 3 clicks sometimes. I don't think it's worth paying for. Now the bank chargers have got to be sorted out. So much for three free months.

Keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep better.
"FACT(federation against copyright theft) claims that, "if you are accessing premium pay-for content, like Sky, BT Sport and Virgin Media, and you do not have a subscription with an official provider then this is unlawful access".
Yes, you are probably safe, but he makes very valid points. And even if you believe it is legal, you know full well it is morally wrong - but then I`m guessing you have no morals, so won`t give a monkeys what anyone says.

Well, actually, Game of Thrones was available via Sky Atlantic in April 2016 with the Entertainment pass. In the run-up all the box-sets for the previous series were available. I would assume they would be available again when it is released in "mid-2017": "Game of Thrones is set to premiere on HBO later than usual, in mid-2017."

Seems a good amount of films on there to view, and also enabled the USB feature (http://www.waxedperfection.co.uk/now-tv-usb-working-hd-box) and most of the films on my USB seem to work, some get stuck but not a big issue as will keep the WDTVlive nearby.
for £40 i would probably have not have bought one, but £20 for a media player and free movies seems reasonable, or a free media player but £5 a month sky movies, or £10 media player and £2.50 a month for movies.....take your pick

It may be re-downloadable from the Samsung 'app store' (or similar) in the TV - have you had a look? If not, it's possible that they've removed it after their licencing deal with Now TV ended.

How to get the NOW TV USB Slot Working
How do I stream video from my PC hard drive?
dont think you can cast to the shield either. must be some issues with the shield. i have one but use my phone and cast to my chromecast stick
Most of the others are very similar to sky box sets.
If you decide you're not keen, just sell the box and the code and you'll probs make your money back.
Instead, if you have an Android phone, do what I suggest here to get 3 months movies for £5 in total (£1.66 per month):

On all other devices (including the one in this offer), you can only pause, rewind or fast-forward on demand movies and shows, which this offer is for - so yes to your query.
You only need a TV aerial to get full functionality from the more expensive Freeview-capable Smart box (links in my previous post).
Before people say cancel licence i would but someone else in my household uses BBC
"Game of Thrones is set to premiere on HBO later than usual, in mid-2017."
Do love myself a good bargain.
Also whats wrong with me I can no longer find the Now TV app on my Samsung Smart TV. Did they remove it?

It may be re-downloadable from the Samsung 'app store' (or similar) in the TV - have you had a look? If not, it's possible that they've removed it after their licencing deal with Now TV ended.
