Very seem to have a bad reputation. Also I'm not sure about it saying the full amount will be charged then refunded etc. Great deal and seems to be working, but I'm unsure if I should take the risk or not given their reputation!!

I paid with PayPal (£34.99 click and collect) but the transaction history on Very makes it sound like I was charged £64.99 and refunded £30, which isn't true.

yea just spoke to someone on the phone about why I had been charged that amount said until its dispatched but they hold the full amount for some weird reason even though email says the right price they have actually pended full amount in my bank account then goes back in or something very strange!

I set up deal alerts and I'm still always late to the party

On the actual switch console pre orders, as I assume most in here have at last one..... Has Game or Nintendo confirmed launch day delivery for anyone?

I've had confirmation from Nintendo for a case for launch day but not the console itself. The case was a separate order from the console.

Games (as of Friday) could not confirm either way if I would get the console for launch.

I have an order with Amazon also, I believe I will get this one. Order page says due to arrive 3rd March.

Estimated delivery date was 7th March until they emailed saying 'delivery has been upgraded to launch day delivery at no extra cost'

Very says 'delivery by 3rd March last checked 26/02' and they emailed twice saying 'great news your order is on track for arranged delivery date 3rd march'

The code: LA4AC is supposed to be for use with 'new credit accounts'. If you search around the web, you can find the details for it.

It appears the code is working for non credit accounts, but read this from Very T&C's before ordering. I'd leave other preorders open if you decide to chance it.

"If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. This has me worried... along with Verys usual reputation. Would there be any benefit to having 2 controllers if I order elsewhere as well to ensure I get one on launch day? ie, Are things like snipperclippers and mario kart playable with pro controllers or only the switch controllers?

Yes the games are compatible with the Pro controller.

The best deal currently is with Tesco (still have launch day stock), as you can get the console and a Pro controller for £334.98 (making the Pro controller £55). EDIT:- only grey now.

Honestly I would write off this Very deal, it's been well documented in the past they are a nightmare with voucher codes. Whether they openly do this to get customers to sign up (in the hope of getting them to open credit accounts) I don't know.

But with no benefit to selling £60 worth of stuff for £30 (no credit account opened), I'm sure they are not going to take a huge financial hit for no reward.

They will be able to refund a Paypal payment but they will not be able to debit the extra £30. So for Paypal payers then the worst case is a refund.

I agree. My main concern was with some people mentioning cancelling their existing preorders.

Very and voucher codes can be risky, especially for the reason I wrote in my above post.
It would be pretty disappointing for people to find out that Very might not honour their order and they have lost their other preorder they had hastily cancelled,

My logic was I had it preordered for £59.99, which most sites are selling it for anyway. I dont think these are going to be sold out and impossible to find post launch (I may be wrong), so it seemed worth cancelling my other order and taking a punt, if this gets cancelled then worst case scenario I have to try a few different websites to find stock and reorder for a chance to save £25. I'd love to have the cash to hedge my bets and order from another site, but from looking around there seems no worth in having multiple pro controllers!

Done this exact thing with Zelda and got it for £30 with a £20 off code at weekend.

It seems that as long as you pay by PayPal then you'll bec fine, and you can have it delivered to a collect+ location for free.

I think it's when you use your Very credit account that things go south with eligibility of codes etc.

I had emailed very after I made the order to enquire if I could amend the delivery method and I got this response

"Thank you for contacting us about your order.
Upon checking I can confirm that the item Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (KW9NU19) is being processed at the suppliers and we are unable to amend the delivery method.

So I guess that is kind of a good sign.

I can only assume loads of people were purchasing around the same time as you so in regards to stock levels it would have been first come first served for the last few. They sold over 100 in a couple of hours so I think they only might have had about 200-300 in stock maybe. Hey I am just hypothetically guessing! :smiley:

I bought zelda wii u off them for £35 a few weeks ago. They canceled my order a week later. And didn't tell me. Said it was unavailable. Then 2 days later it was back on their site for £49.99. They will cancel all these orders i think. They will not take a hit on anything. They do not care about customers. They will not even send emails when they cancel. I will be amazed if they honor any of these orders that were bought with payment up front and not by opening a credit account with them.

here is very's T&C below. from what it says the contract between you and them is not binding until the order has been dispatched, but after delivery they can reverse the benefit!

"2. Ordering Goods

So I have just been charged twice 24 hours later... paid by PayPal. Originally went through as £38 yesterday then today they have charged the same amount again to my PayPal :neutral_face:
Not even charged the £64.99 + p&p it's discounted price + p&p X2 so over £70 total... sigh

I have only been charged the once for £38.98. Maybe you ordered 2? I didn't think they were able to charge your paypal again unless you authorised the payment in which you have not, but I could be wrong. otherwise fraudsters would have a field day! I do know they can do that if you paid directly using your debit/credit card.

Yeah usually not possible to charge PayPal again although I do know there are certain ways it can happen such as pre-allocated payment changing amount. Not sure exactly how it happened this time though because it's two separate payments, one completed and one pending. Definitely only ordered one.
Probably have to call them and get it sorted out and no doubt lose out on the offer at the same time :disappointed:

Just hold out until/if you have received the order and then call them and enquire for a refund for the extra amount. if they say no about the refund then tell them you want to return the item for a refund with the original P&P as they should have cancelled the order before dispatching.

my pay pal order is the correct price and its on buy now pay later so dont take the money for 14 days :smiley:
