I have been playing Zelda on Switch all morning, I can't possibly put into words how incredible it is to play on a handheld.
people that are comparing to Xbox one & PS4 are missing point. this is a handheld with a tv dock.
the power for a handheld is a game changer.
absolutely love it.
great price for this controller, ordered.

I'll never understand this. Something being the cheapest at the moment does not automatically make it a "hot deal" - which is what you are voting on. It just makes it a "cheapest at the moment deal"! Would people still be voting hot if it were £120 which might be the cheapest price you could get it? Of course not.

not sure why people are voting cold so far.
It is the cheapest price for this i have seen so far, so i have voted it hot.

In before the "lool this a rip off for a controller", "Nintendo Switch will fail" and "I hate Nintendo so this is a bad deal". It's the cheapest at the moment so voted hot.

Fair point, suppose I'm not seeing it from the perspective of a parent though. Seeing as the console is targeted at hipster youth in all the advertising, the assumption is that adolescent - adults are the main target group to begin with - they're the ones with the income, who respond to advertising.
Besides, kids of all ages have home consoles, and there are games available for all age groups. Let's say you bought your kid this device, and they lost one of the joycon controllers - that's probably £30-40 minimum to replace, and you'd better believe it would happen.
Outwardly, Nintendo is a 'kid friendly' brand - but it isn't the kids buying the Switch for BotW - it's adults buying it for themselves. So, as an adult gamer, the Switch is most definitely an expensive prospect when all things are factored in to give you a traditional home gaming experience.
Then again, most consoles start expensive, so let's just hope Nintendo get some decent bundles at a more competitive price pretty soon.

So the cost of an ipad then, that many kids demand and get gifted for xmas then still end up aspiring to have more involved gaming experiences.
Not sure I'd try to convince parents of kids under 14 that a PS4 is more suitable because it's cheaper
and as a young adult I always bought Nintendo consoles to compliment the PC and Sony consoles.

Hmm, you say this, and yet, the total price of entry with all relevant accessories (example in question: a controller that is more fitting within the mold of home consoles).
So let's say you get the Console, and 1 of these for more traditional gaming experience in the home, that's £335. Add a game into the mix (£40 average) and we're hitting £375. Now, I'm not saying this is TOO bad, although the gimmick of being able to play anywhere and sacrificing performance will probably fade fairly quickly, BUT there are a few other accessories that you can pick up for a smoother/better experience.
Not saying the console is bad, just seems pretty expensive. Especially considering price of entry on a PS4/ONE is now around £200 if you get a good deal.

Silly boy.
If you don't get it, you don't get it.
Try this then. How come you get hot deals and cold deals on here? Even when pretty much everything is at the cheapest price you can get it? By your logic everything should have 500+ degrees of heat. It's because some deals are "hotter" than others. Voters take into account not just the fact it's the cheapest price, but how much cheaper than RRP. They also take into account the quality of the item, and if that item has been available at a lower price and for how long. I can guarantee you if this had been available for a year at £20, nobody would be voting hot at £55, even if it were the cheapest price currently. Well, I guess you might seeing as you don't get it.
Think another poster summed it up best when he said this was a "warm" deal :smirk:

Ill never understand your lack of understanding - something being the cheapest its available for is by definition a hot (uk) deal. Your "illustration" is stupid, its not £120, its £54.99 for a product on sale everywhere else for £59.99

I agree... once you get your head around the fact that this is a HANDHELD console with a dock, and ignore the "ooh, it's not as powerful as ps4/xbone etc blah blah" nonsense you realise how brilliant this (handheld) game console is! LOVE IT.
That huge super bright and sharp handheld screen, playing Zelda, on the bog. Priceless moments

i think this will be its saving grace, if it was a standalone console it wouldn't hold against microsoft or sony, however because it is no effectively an extremely powerful handheld console, it should sell like hot cakes

Too expensive for all 3 really...but the price for this really isn't out of the ordinary for launch day (especially considering the additional costs of HD rumble/a NFC reader being built-in).

Well... you've got to take into account the quality of the item! Again, if 50% of users are conplaining of faults, bad connectivity etc. then even if it were being sold at £20 and the cheapest by miles, I'd not vote hot. Because to me it still wouldn't be a hot deal!

Agreed. Personally, I think XboxOne/PS4 controllers are hot at around £30+ or so. This controller's got a bit more inside it, so I'd say around the £40 mark would make it a good deal. This is just a shade under a quite pricey RRP, so for me, not a particularly "hot" deal.
