Ordered from Nintendo store on the 15th January and just got delivery date of the 7th-8th of March? I thought it was released tomorrow? So mad brought it for my sons birthday Saturday and the website said it would arrive on the release date!

Are you disputing there is still stock available?
Check out Amazon, Tesco, Very, Smyths etc... All have stock available for launch.
All the diehards will have placed their pre orders already. No way will this be a sell out in the U.K.

Yeah they said that, I'm not too worried as I have neon joy-cons on order directly from Nintendo (£5 cheaper than anywhere else), was mostly just interested in saving £20 but looking at their site, it appears that there aren't actually any bundles that save money.

Couldn't you already do pretty much that exact same experience for £100's of pounds cheaper with the DS or even a 3DS though?
This is gonna cost you £600 + for 2 switch consoles and 2 copies of mario kart! wtf!!!

You will be getting the grey console if you have pre ordered in october.
I had a deposit with game since october reveal as well. I went in on the official jan launch and said i wanted the neon console.
They had to create a new pre-order as the stock codes were different.

When I pre ordered in store I was told that the cost of my zelda game and switch console would just be combined into the bundle price.
So I payed £5 zelda
£20 switch
I can get £25 off the bundle price as that is what I have paid. The staff in my local game are pretty cool

Agree.
Have a look on metacritic at the top 10-15 games across all the old systems. Nintendo's are the most varied and highest rated from the likes of Edge Magazine. Also the most popular emulated games, mostly Nintendo's. The most collectable retro games and highest prices, again mostly Nintendo.
If you look on youtube there's some serious gamers on there giving recognition to hidden gems even on the 'poor selling' Gamecube.

A lot of people are willing to pay because a lot of people enjoy Nintendo games. The dual docked/portable format is also appealing to many.
For some people, myself included, owning just a handful of games over the lifetime of the console justifies the purchase.
People will buy for their own reasons, negative comments that are based on pure speculation are generally pointless.

Probably why they created a hybrid device......A lot of parents with younger children I've spoken to like the idea of not having to buy two devices for home and away (or just don't want their kids playing on that £500 ipad)
Would never have Nintendo as my one and only console but as a secondary gaming device I've always found their hardware essential, to many fantastic exclusives to miss out on.

Ridiculously expensive for a bulky handheld you can plug into a tv and is less powerful that current gen consoles.
Dated and expensive technology again from nintendo. With pre Christmas deals you could get a ps4 and and xbox one for this price pretty much.
It seems obvious this will bomb like anything in European and American markets. We don't game on dedicated portable gaming devices anymore in western markets Nintendo don't seem to understand this .

Pre-orders have never sold out in the UK or most of Europe... and that was before Nintendo said they will be producing more for launch (for areas with stock issues, like America). So, while you might not find one the first shop you walk in, it might not be as difficult as you seem to think.

As long as you pay by credit card your money is safe as the credit card company is jointly liable and the console is over £100. The worst that could happen is your credit card company refunds you. £200 with those upcoming titles is still far too expensive for me, I just don't think I will use it but will likely hop aboard when Mario Odyssey comes out.
I personally think it will flop in most of Europe and become very niche but the US launch looks good.

16 Feb 17#77
I guess someone who thinks there getting a console at that price gets dissapointed is the bottom line. And then has to wait to get one elsewhere or not at all because of the price difference.
Bigger picture, gameseek or rather the guy in charge has been sitting on your money which (unless he's very dumb) has been garnering a nice amount of interest and this of course makes his books look a little better if only for a little while. And it generates some hype and subsequently more traffic to what is generally a not very good site with some mediocre priced games.
What would I also do if I was that guy in charge at gameseek in this instance? I'd also ensure I had some accounts on sites like this to drive pre orders and comment with 'just had an email saying its all good' and 'I've been told more stock is expected at this price!' and 'whats the worse that could happen?' ...oh oh.

[quote=Illusionary][quote=HugoLuca] Flubit will drop on first request 3% (did for me twice diff console colours) off the Switch. I got my Zelda pre-order for Switch at £36-37.
I know Very ... Very well. They suck and deliver depending on what and how you use them. Multi accounts to same address with vouchers will hinder deals. This simple transaction that they offered will be a done deal i imagine.
Paying up front undesirable for some not for others. You know were you stand now with no future cost incursion.
Flubit has always delivered for me. And 3% off - thats still lol bad for the Switch RRP (like in this post) cost.
Illusionary
16 Feb 171#65
You're of course welcome to your opinion, but this post's temperature would suggest that you're in the minority.
Re Flubit, I personally wouldn't want to trust that their merchant will be able to fulfil orders for a console that appears to be stock-constrained at first. You may well be fortunate and get your system without issue, but it's a gamble that I (and most others) wouldn't want to take. You're also paying up-front, which many people see as undesirable.

That what every developer say but its clearly not true if you look at the stats and contents of PS2 era game compare to PS3/4. the fact is there is no unlockable lvl/characte/items in modern games anymore, if it like they said, nothing is taken out if the base game then why are these thing not in game anymore but are being sold separately nowadays?
Its extremly naive to think any developer would finished the whole game first and got it out of the door before sitting down and brainstorm idea for DLCs. ANY DLC would have been planned (whether being actively on or not) in early to mid part of the projects.
That said, its undoubtedly some of the DLCs content would have never existed in the main game without the practise DLC. but the opposite is also true in that some of the DLCs content would have been in the base game in a world without DLCs. so bottom line is both argument is correct and wrong at the same time. there is no way of knowing

16 Feb 17#57
That's stupid.
The DLC is additional content in the future it's nothing taken out of the base game like battlefield etc. You do not need to buy it plus there is a hard mode in the default game this is an additional mode that can be played.

I have had my Switch pre ordered from Amazon since the minute they went live and Zelda at £40. Am thinking of cancelling the pre order for the switch. As am not a fan of Nintendo games. Other than Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Zelda looking decent. I also adore the Pokémon games they release on the handhelds. In fact the only reason I had a Gameboy color and a DS and 2DS is due to the Pokémon games.
So at the moment all I want a switch for it Zelda, Mario Kart and the hope of Nintendo releasing a proper Pokémon game for it as well as a new Smash Bros game. £279.99 is a lot for that. So I think ill be cancelling that pre order. However, I will try and get one from Gameseek for £198 due to having a load of points with them (thanks to sellto.com). If I don't get lucky with that then ill just wait until a Pokémon game is released for it.

It's extra content, not something that you're obliged to buy. I wouldn't see this as content that's been removed from the retail game - Nintendo have a history of their DLC releases to date being very reasonable (Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Bros 2, New Super Mario Bros U, etc.)

Doesn't look like the switch is selling out with pre orders still avalible.

No mention of it being day 1 stock though, which is why i would be wary of cancelling any current orders with them just to get this deal.

Nintendo are allocating pre-orders in batches so stores will keep changing their availability. Ever since the Wii lots of stores have been wary about 6 month long waits for pre-orders so only take orders they expect to fill.
The fact they're offering bundles could be a sign that they're having to work harder to sell them or it could be a sign that they're selling so well, they've decided to shift stock to more profitable bundles (margins on consoles by themselves are normally tiny).
Opening post
Seems to be the cheapest current price for the Switch and Zelda for launch day.
Payment not taken until dispatch plus you get £6.40 in reward card points

Check out Amazon, Tesco, Very, Smyths etc... All have stock available for launch.
All the diehards will have placed their pre orders already. No way will this be a sell out in the U.K.
This is gonna cost you £600 + for 2 switch consoles and 2 copies of mario kart! wtf!!!
I had a deposit with game since october reveal as well. I went in on the official jan launch and said i wanted the neon console.
They had to create a new pre-order as the stock codes were different.
So I payed £5 zelda
£20 switch
I can get £25 off the bundle price as that is what I have paid. The staff in my local game are pretty cool
For some people, myself included, owning just a handful of games over the lifetime of the console justifies the purchase.
People will buy for their own reasons, negative comments that are based on pure speculation are generally pointless.
It's only £319.99 with 1 2 Switch
Just wondered why so many are willing to throw 300 quid at a console that'll have ten decent games at best.
It's your money so crack on.
Would never have Nintendo as my one and only console but as a secondary gaming device I've always found their hardware essential, to many fantastic exclusives to miss out on.
In the mean time, I'm going to go back to enjoying comments from people getting really upset about the Switch.
If I cared about GAME points or didn't have the voucher used on Zelda I would definitely be getting this deal.
Last year's F1 cars were the most technologically advanced F1 cars in history, but were they the best? Your favourite? The most fun?
Dated and expensive technology again from nintendo. With pre Christmas deals you could get a ps4 and and xbox one for this price pretty much.
It seems obvious this will bomb like anything in European and American markets. We don't game on dedicated portable gaming devices anymore in western markets Nintendo don't seem to understand this .
Regardless of how much one earns, his deal would still be the better deal.......even if he had 50k
Didn't anyone learn from the wii u?
Pre-orders have never sold out in the UK or most of Europe... and that was before Nintendo said they will be producing more for launch (for areas with stock issues, like America). So, while you might not find one the first shop you walk in, it might not be as difficult as you seem to think.
He can have the one I was going to buy before I found out Zelda was the only game worth the purchase for it; the price of it and the accessories, and charging you for online... I'll pay him to take my pre-order off me!
Well I just phoned Amazon and they agreed to price match and knock off 1p so I got it for £10.25 now, your move
I personally think it will flop in most of Europe and become very niche but the US launch looks good.
Console: £279.99
Zelda: £36.16 using a discount code.
They wont sell it for that price, Newcomers probably arent aware they've got previous.
People cant really think there getting a switch for sub 200 can they? best case scenario is they'll honour lets say 5 at that price for the purposes of pr.
You're welcome.
Flubit will drop on first request 3% (did for me twice diff console colours) off the Switch. I got my Zelda pre-order for Switch at £36-37. Less for Mario Kart remake Switch pre-order. And Switch for a couple pounds under £300 with Arms game. Amazon Prime student incentive £10 off £50. And Very £30 off £300 spend (now ended). And i believe i have paid way to much anyhow :innocent:
This is not a deal. What i paid is not a deal (Individual games yes). What some lucky boys and girls got from GameSeek pre-ordering the console at £198 - was a deal.
Sure i can add that in any post title as well :P But it looks like the dead, and i mean dead standard deal that is everywhere???
What part is better than average ... Average? It's not even average but the usual top end price.
By being less than RRP and among the lowest-cost options for buying these, perhaps?
Its extremly naive to think any developer would finished the whole game first and got it out of the door before sitting down and brainstorm idea for DLCs. ANY DLC would have been planned (whether being actively on or not) in early to mid part of the projects.
That said, its undoubtedly some of the DLCs content would have never existed in the main game without the practise DLC. but the opposite is also true in that some of the DLCs content would have been in the base game in a world without DLCs. so bottom line is both argument is correct and wrong at the same time. there is no way of knowing
The DLC is additional content in the future it's nothing taken out of the base game like battlefield etc. You do not need to buy it plus there is a hard mode in the default game this is an additional mode that can be played.
It will be worth keeping hold of. Alot of people will be dissapointed when they cant get hold of the switch in few months time expecting a price drop.
£279.99 for console (pre-ordered from game)
£36.10 for zelda (from amazon
Im hoping game do an offer on a console/controller instore on the day
So at the moment all I want a switch for it Zelda, Mario Kart and the hope of Nintendo releasing a proper Pokémon game for it as well as a new Smash Bros game. £279.99 is a lot for that. So I think ill be cancelling that pre order. However, I will try and get one from Gameseek for £198 due to having a load of points with them (thanks to sellto.com). If I don't get lucky with that then ill just wait until a Pokémon game is released for it.
I guess with preorders people always drop out, (or like Game payments fail left, right n centre) they can just re-allocate that stock?
Ill be extremely surprised if everyone gets one at release. They don't have the best rep at the best of times.

cancelled my preorder Zelda dlc was last straw

My days, their fail turned into an email harvest.
Utter turdblossoms.
