This will get knocked loads but I have driven the commercial one for 3 days as the company offered a trial, hell its no where near fantastic at all but for the price and what you get at new price you cant knock it and it wasn't a bad ride power delivery was ok and seemed better when it was full of my van stock (?) and heavy for some reason. Had decent enough room but does sound well tinny when you shut the door.
For a runabout and if your not brand snob then I would recommend it, if you gonna do mileage regularly then no but would be ok for a there and back holiday and domestic/commute.

I drive a Sandero and it's a great motor, I have the top of the range model so air con, Bluetooth and touch screen media player /sat nav etc, it's very quick and never had a problem, I will definitely be looking at the new Duster.

That's typical for a car of this size and similar to an entry level Nissan Juke.

Love these things, great concept and superb pricing, have looked at purchasing one on a few occasions BUT there is big issue with rust!
I understand that these where built in India where there are quality issue's with paint application (or lack of) but production of right hand drive was going to switch to eastern europe at some point hopefully solving the problem.
Worth checking out some duster forums before taking the plunge.

Like it or loathe it, the Duster was the 30th best selling car in Europe in 2016, just above the Kia Sportage...
People still go on about the ncap scores? They are from the first model when stuff like STS were optional, all come as standard now.
Also the rust problem is the same, 2012/13 models, they switched rust proofing method long ago.
Also the review above is odd, The new duster is so much quieter and refined, we've had our new duster prestige for 3 weeks and all of the little niggly noises and cheapness that were present in the 2013 model have been resolved in the current model, everything from road noise to the sound the central locking makes they've clearly listened to use feedback. Makes me wonder if they even retested the car or just chucked 2017 in the title.
Edit: yep all the photos are of the original 2012 model of various spec levels.

We had the Sandero Stepway when it first arrived in the UK, yes, we had the top of the range version, at the price why wouldn't you! Yes it was a bit noisy from the road, but very comfortable and the entertainment system/sat nav was brilliant. When we changed it last year we looked at the Duster but the prices had gone up quite a bit and you got less for the higher price, we looked at a Scenic and for the exact same price after trade in we had a top of the range one of these and it drives a lot quieter. Would I recommend a Dacia, yes, just look at exactly what you are getting and compare it with others first.

I bought a new Duster 1 year ago this week. I was prepared to 'forgive' it a few things. However, no need.
100% reliable. No teething troubles. No little niggles. No squeaks or rattles. And very comfy. I've had cars from FIAT, Ford, BMW, VW, Citroen, Volvo to name few.
Overall - considering the price especially - this is the best all round car I've owned, and great on fuel use to; I have 1.5 diesel with 6 speed 'box.
See past that 'budget' dash - which is actually very solid - and it's a great car.
Much better than it has any right to be.
Well done Renault for producing this car. (Outside Europe it's badged as a Renault and in some markets a Nissan)

Picking one of the worst to compare it to isn't very helpful. Almost every other new car is safer, let people see a more complete list:
