Great game, didn't have this one on my steam account, but can finally buy it, without the risk of buying a steam key on the likes of G2a.
Become Seacrest County's top cop or most wanted racer!
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit launches you into a new open-world landscape behind the wheel of the world's fastest and most beautiful cars. From Criterion, the award-winning studio behind the Burnout series, Hot Pursuit will redefine racing games for a whole new generation.
You'll experience stunning speeds, takedowns, and getaways as you battle your friends in the most connected Need for Speed game ever. Through Need for Speed Autolog and its innovative approach to connected social competition, your Hot Pursuit experience will extend beyond the console onto the web, constantly moving your gameplay in new and unique directions.
Loaded with action, this game will challenge you to become Seacrest County's top cop or most wanted racer. For the first time ever in a Need for Speed game, you'll be able to play a full career on either side of the law. Whether you're a lead-foot speeder or a cop with a mean streak, make sure your aviators are spotless and your driving record is anything but.
Key Features
Career – For the first time in Need For Speed history play full careers as both cops and racers. Whether playing online with friends, taking on friends challenges or the single player career, players will earn bounty that levels them up and unlocks new cars, weapons and equipment.
Need For Speed™ Autolog – In Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, your friends drive your gameplay experience. Autolog is a system that links friends directly to each other’s games, enabling them to compare and share all their experiences, pictures and challenges. Autolog instinctively delivers challenges based on what your friends have been doing, creating a hugely dynamic, socially competitive experience.
Cars –In Hot Pursuit, the cars go from hot to hotter. Experience the thrill of driving the world’s most desirable high performance cars at incredible speeds. Feel the power of busting suspects in supercharged cop interceptors like the Lamborghini Reventon or outsmarting the law as a racer in high performance supercars like the Pagani Zonda Cinque.
Weapons and equipment – Take down suspects with a variety of cop weapons like spike strips and call in extra support including road blocks as the chase intensifies. Racers have a range of evasion equipment at their disposal to outsmart the cops including jammers that block cop communications and jam their weapons.
Seacrest County – Explore a world inspired by the California coastline with desert, forest, seaside and mountainous regions. The open world of Seacrest County helps deliver the most intense cop pursuit moments ever.

Forget the single player (for now) and jump into the multiplayer whilst it's still active. Most Wanted has nothing on this tidy little gem.
Most definitely the best Need for Speed released, excluding Underground 2, of course

Currently 309 people in game so you are still good for multiplayer.
Great game except the last race in story mode which is about 30mins and the AI is programmed to rubber-band and catch up right at the end no matter how far ahead you are  Annoying to lose to cheese tactics after a half hour race!
Really fun game tho, one of the best NFS imo

Am I the only one who found this game awful? It was too easy and you unlocked everything every race?

Some parts of the game were easy but then some parts were frustrating but it also depends on what grade you wanted to finish an event with. But the main thing I love about it is the great selection of cars, the graphics, and the amazing arcade controls. Played it a lot when I wanted a quick break in between studies, It's a great game to quickly get into and play for a bit.

Had a look at some gameplay but it doesn't looks as good as Most Wanted imo.
Anyone who's played them both have any insights?

I enjoyed this on 360, it was a funny pick up and have a quick blast game. I remember it feeling awesome avoiding the police, but equally awesome smashing some crims up  I'll have to check my Steam catalogue backlog and see if I have it or not.

The original most wanted is the best NFS title. Though this is a fun game and well worth £2.99.

Not a bad little game let down with easy to beat rubber banding. Once you understand that 'winning' is meraly beig the fastest over the last part of the race, you'll move elsewhere.

The best arcade racer I have ever played then and now. You can play this at 4k and the graphics are stunning, the soundtrack is immense in 5.1, the tracks and races that open up in the later stages still have me on the edge of my seat. I have put some serious hours into this and have never even tried the multiplayer. Pure arcade fun. Hall of fame software right here.

£3 for a 7-year-old game that doesn't support Steam's achievements, Steam Cloud etc. is nothing special.

I loved this on the Xbox 360. I wish it was a bit cheaper than £3 though given the age.
Can anyone actually confirm the multiplayer is working, and has people playing it?
I keep hearing mixed answers regarding this.

Im playing this eve so I'll let you know. In the meantime, certainly looks like it based on the link in an earlier post by oUkTuRkEyIII:
could do with a quick NFS fix since Shift so gotta be worth a few quid. Heat added.

Best Need for Speed aside from Underground 2 as stated before. I only used the multi-player to Max my levels out but it was a really fun grind
Some Great Mods
OK im rushing to get this out 'cause I have a ton of work to do and wont be around for ages
Depending on your skill level expect to have all these up and running in, I would say, 10-30 mins.
Please note: I cant confirm that these mods are safe to use online, but I searched for a long time last night and found nothing to suggest this wasn't the case. If you find compelling evidence to the contrary, please post it here and let ppl know
Customisable Camera / Manual Gears mod
-Added camera angles (Works! Up to 10 totally customisable, saveable - Cockpit view, increase FOV, up down left right tilt etc)
-Manual stickshift (Not yet tested)
-Head track IR (Not yet tested)
-Tips on graphics tweaks (DSR guide. You can also jack AF up to 16)
1. Guide(Note - this guide describes this mod as not working on the Steam version. Well it works fine for me!)
2. Download page referred to in guide (You want nfs11ch20. Right click nfs11ch20 and download)
Remove HUD / Realistic lights
-Realistic Lights mod (Works! Dimmer. Turns down the insane 1000w LEDs on all cars and streetlamps)
-(And/Or) Remove HUD (Not yet tested) Gamebanana download page
No time to write this up properly for a few days but I can confirm that Camera angles and Realistic lights work a treat in single player!
When I have time over the weekend I will aim to produce a customised download package for Camera and Lights, along with more concise guide than is linked here. However, here is the dirty, hammered together version.
If you read everything here and in the links carefully, download the correct files, and follow instructions in the README zip files its all there. There are other guides kicking around online, and perhaps others here will chip in too.
Have fun
