Took just over a week for mine to be delivered, which gave me a chance to buy a few tempered glass screen protectors in advance. Really nice phone, I'm very happy with my first foray into Android for several years. Bit of a learning curve but the phone is a cracking deal at this price.

G4 Plus will a good one... this is just as good as the cheap chinese ones out there. But not bad for a throw away phone, as a daily driver - would be difficult to cope with.

I have a moto e 2nd generation. Does anyone have any idea how much better this G4 is. One thing with my e is that although the battery is supposed to be good I do not think its that great as I am a light user and I hate to think how long it would last if I do what most people do.

​Think it harks back to the time of the original Moto G which was such a bargain when it came out, but this now just seems a re hash of that. The good thing going for this at least is the 16gb of ROM, 8gb fills up too quickly now with the latest versions of Android. Personally I went for a second hand LG G3 at the same price as this and much prefer it over my last Moto G3.

Just got a black one from Vodafone for £75+£10 top up saves waiting for delivery and credit wife is chuffed

Typing this on the G4 Play I got the last time it was at this price. Not gamed on it yet, but everything runs well, though Facebook crashed once. Speaker is a slight disappointment in volume.

Wife quite unhappy with the battery life. She doesn't get a whole day out of it. Spends most of her phone time using Facebook and Messenger.

is the moto g 3rd gen better than this Play version? Surely at least it has better camera, and probably build quality as well?

Not noticed any issues. Have streamed music via Deezer to our car via Bluetooth, while I'm surfing the web/checking social media, with no slow down/lag.

This phone manages its memory well, unlike other brands.

Is the back very slippery/matt? bought a smart 7 that I just cannot handle lack of grip.

I'm guessing there must be a decent 2gb Ram alternative phone for £80, and yet no one seems to mention it when talking about this deal. Please enlighten us, looking for a first smartphone for someone and while I wouldn't have this myself, it seems like a decent deal and a decent phone having played around with one :smiley:

3rd gen is also waterproof which is a massive bonus at this price level.

no just sold it for a price point of view.im anticipating that the s7 edge will probably drop another 10-15% when the s8 is released.so just got out while the price was still ok.

it's really worse than the 1st gen because apps are much bigger now. typing this on my 1gb g3 which is awful for task switching (although love it for other reasons!) i noticed the g1 i still have on kitkat 4.4 is faster. no amount of tweaking is sorting this out. avoid imho, people are not kidding you we want 2gb+ now :/

I bought this phone & paid through PayPal .My bank have charged me £3 as it said payment went through gointerpay and is taken as cash payment. Has anyone else had this & who should I contact PayPal say they haven't charged me

I agree. My son has moto G3 with 2GB memory. I specifically bought 2GB, since he plays lots of games. Brilliant so far and, never failed or had any complaints from him yet.
My daughter has moto G 4G with 1GB memory, but she rarely play games. No issues so far.
This is for my wife, and she don't play games, so I think this will be more than enough for her.
Great quality phones with almost pure android. Gets updates for almost all models unlike MANY big brands just sell the phone and offer another model in couple of months COMPLETELY ignoring other models they sold.

This is the main reason why any motorolla deal gets damn hot in double quick time.

​what happens if you open 3 big apps, say Chrome, maps and something like momondo, and switch between them? does chrome reload? i would be surprised if a 1gb can multitask, if you want to book flights or something this can be a disaster.
