Apply all the vouchers from topcashback. For me it summed up to £224 plus the 5% (equal to £11.20) yet to come through cashback.

You can get the 64GB 4GB RAM model for £224 - the OP has just not fully described how to get for this price. After playing around with various voucher codes I managed to get the price down to £224 - use the following Voucher codes:

When you consider the next model is due for release in 3 week's time you'd have thought there would be more discounts available.

Or just get the zuk z2 which blows this out of the water, 820 CPU and 4gb, 5 inch screen, minus NFC and band 20. Flash the Indian ROM which is easy as pie and all for around 140 ish or less with discount codes and quidco cash back. 20 days or less delivery from Banggood. You be a fool to get this over the z2.

My girlfriend had this issue. Total design flaw from the sound of it. Amazon replaced it and the second one does it, just a little less severe. Their idea of fixing the issue is releasing a new phone.

No problems with mine and the battery is the best I've ever had in a phone. Lasts a full day with high usage.

Worth getting 4GB of ram or stick with the 2?

You can never have enough RAM on a phone. The more RAM means the more you can have open without having to reload when you switch back from another app. If you go a few years down the line, more RAM will be the difference between a developer managing to give your device the latest version of Android. If you can afford it, take the 4GB version.

Price for 2GB of RAM is £229, for 4GB its £264.

Except to get the z2 you need to be confident with flashing, as from what I'm aware it won't work straight out the box

13 Feb 17#15
Yeah, agreed. The G5 is apparently 189 euros at launch and the processor should be a bit more reliable. Still, the G imo is no longer viable at this price anymore especially in the face of brand name Asian equivalents

13 Feb 17#22
Is this quite a lot for a G4 Plus or am I just out of touch? Being that it's a mid-range handset. I appreciate not everyone will want a used phone (e.g. Sony Z5, LG G5) or a ZUK 2 or similar that needs flashing but it seems like a lot when there's so much choice?

Which Phone is better?, the OP's Motorola?, or this Motorola instead:
Only issues I had was that the dev options kept on disappearing on the shop rom, had to keep tapping to get it back after exiting menus. I had to revoke usb debugging authorizations then unplug the phone and replug it back into the pc to get adb to detect it, a prompt then came up on the phone screen to allow connection

Thanks for the help. The huawei p9 offer is not on anymore. I'm desperate to find a decent phone and it's now between the Motorola g4 or the Lenovo p2 or just keep waiting until another offer appears

I paid VAT on it, so they'd best not be any more charges/duty... Wouldn't surprise me though knowing our ever so officious HMRC.

I had this problem too, you could see the time and information bar on almost every screen (even fullscreen apps), and forget watching youtube; any graphic that stayed in the same place for more than a few seconds would then be burned-in and displayed over any other app for about 15 minutes. Turning the phone off for a few minutes, or leaving it with the screen off for about half an hour would usually get rid of any artifacts burnt-in.
Tried a hard reset, factory reset, switching 'adaptive' brightness on and off, switching from vibrant to natural display mode, nothing solved it. Even sent the phone off to Motorola for repair (postage at my own expense), and received the standard "we have identified the issue and fully repaired the phone", of course they had not, the only thing they could do was sent it off for 'repair' again (postage at my expense, again).
To be clear, I'm not bashing the phone, other than this issue it was truly exceptional at the price. I just want people to be aware that if you happen to get one of the defective handsets, immediately replace it.
Or maybe wait until MWC in Barcelona at the end of the month and see the new NOKIA offerings.

I've got the 4gb version just over a month ago. I paid £224 too (plus cashback). I'm really pleased with it so far, seems quicker than my previous Z3 Compact and no bugs or issues. My only gripe is the lack of a magnetometer (compass). I haven't found the lack of NFC an issue. There are better spec Chinese sourced phones for less money but I bought it because I like the way the Moto is just vanilla Android with no bloatware. It just works, end of. It's dual SIM too, if that helps (e.g. for getting a Three PAYG SIM if going abroad).
Is this phone a good upgrade to the LG g2 that I have?

It was fortunate that it was purchased from Amazon and not directly from Motorola. I had 2 'repairs' and was then offered a reconditioned phone (which I didn't accept).
When did your girlfriend purchase the original phone? If the fault was reported within 6 months of the purchase date and the replacement is also faulty then she is entitled to a refund.
