Now thinking I should grab Monster Hunter 4 for £15 at Asda. They have a few copies in my local, hmm...

Get it. It dropped to £14 new at one point (posted on here) last year and people foamed for it. It isnt for everyone but then MH never has been (at least in the west) only one way to find out! unless theres a demo on the eshop? cant remember.
Luckily im a new3ds owner so the extra nub was handy for MH4U not sure how 3ds xl owners found playing?

I suspect there will be an all new MH for the switch.

Is MH4 still worth playing compared to Generations, is the newer one particularly superior in any way? I'm undecided which one I should get.

To be honest, I haven't seen anything to get excited about. Probably just a new setting and monsters, kind of like a refreshed model of MH4. MH4 still has a lot of content on it to keep you busy for hours and hours and at this price it's a proper steal.

I loved the hours spent on MH4 when I first bought it. I'd buy it at this price, no question

Newer isnt always better. This is a great example of that. Buy 4 at this price. 3 is also fair (just) for this money.

I love MH but couldn't get into Generations. The nostalgia angle just bored me.
MH4U is excellent and i'd argue the most accessible to newcomers. It does a great job of pacing the difficulty and balancing the grinding so that you move on to the next monster or weapon before becoming tired of seeing the same enemy.

That's an absolute bargain for Monster Hunter 4. Nice find Op, tempted to buy...
