Panasonic is just another NAME BADGE added to the many bog standard TVs probably made in a Vestel factory and not of the OLD ORIGINAL TRUE Panasonic quality so why get excited about how fast it can accelerate across the living room floor???

Note that it will cost another £60 or so for a set of active glasses for a family of 4.....

I've posted this before regarding refurbs on the Panasonic ebay site but I had one which had significant cosmetic damage when it was delivered. I know other people have bought them and they've been as new but I think it's luck of the draw

I'm sure the KS8000 isn't cheaper at a size near 58" and doesn't include 3D support, so a non starter compared to discussing this particular set.
Of course, we could stay on here and argue all day about various manufacturers and sizes but that wasn't the point of my previous post.

Hi all, I looked into deals for this TV and in my case I want a UHD Blu-ray player also. Taking into account bundle deals available, Richer Sounds have this TV brand new with a Panasonic DMP-UB700 UHD Bluray player for £1289. So for £190 extra than buying this refurbished set and a player at retail, you have a new product and a great 6 year guarantee. Just for information for anyone else in my position.

Seen at Currys, picture quality is amazing, soo natural. Better than the other TVs selling twice.
Hot for the TV. But not sure about the refurbished.

Have to agree with some of the other comments.
This money for a refurb is not great.

If all those "TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS are nothing more than marketing hype" then every TV will be the exact same. Technical Specification is detailed description of what a product is capable of. like a car's acceleration rate , saying they are useless is just stupid.
The only thing useless is those Marketing jargons such as SUHD, Uled, superUHD etc, but even those has their limited use.

Looking for a 50 inch model in this series. Do we have that available, cant seem to find it? :disappointed:

ALL these so called TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS are nothing more than marketing hype just to impress and show how clever the marketing people think they are. It means NOTHING to 99.99999% to most people and even to the nerds that write about it. No better judge than your own eyes and ears to see if you like a TV or not.

What you have to read properly is the fact that they are REFURBISHED. Now that could mean they are Second Hand and have been returned as FAULTY. Or in a few cases may have been Ex Display ones that have been running all day every day in a showroom for weeks on end or other reasons. But REFURBISHED is NOT NEW. Regardless of a TV, a Car, a washing machine or even a bar of soap. OR it could just mean that they could be overstocks that they cant sell at full rip off prices that ALL manufacturers and retailers are doing these days until they have so called OFFERS which are even still overpriced in lots of cases.
WHY manufacturers and retailers cant have HONEST DECENT PRICING instead of RIP OFF CORPORATE GREED PRICING beggars belief .

Just be aware that, should software updates and enhancement be important to you, Mozilla recently discontinued the Firefox OS.
Panasonic are taking over development and continuing with it in the newly announced models under the name 'My Home Screen 2.0' so it'll be no different to other manufacturer specific platforms like WebOS or Tizen.

Also motion blur is mostly caused by the camera exposure time of a compromise between frame to frame motion jerk and motion blur, at a lower than ideal frame rate.

Actually the DX700 has a 60hz screen.
This also has twice the brightness, wider colour gamut and some limited local dimming ability for HDR. It supports (active) 3D, comes with Panasonic's high end image processor and is generally quite a different model to the DX700. It's more an improved version of the 750.

I have a full 7.1 setup but still use soundbar as makes it simple for wife and 2.5 year old to just watch tv

Exactly the same here. Bought it last year from RS for same price. The stand is frikkin' obnoxious though, and I wish I'd know about the differently placed VESA holes as I had to leave the TV in its box for a couple of days while I made arrangements. Sound bar is out of use too as everything runs through my 5.1.
The TV is glorious though. Picture is incredible and the OS is snappy. I don't regret paying £1,100 so if anyone gets this at £799 then you'll be on cloud 9.
Would be hard to say as the cord on the soundbar is a priority cable so cant be changed and its not very long so doubt you would be able to route through the cable management system on stand if it even reaches the floor.

its is not wall mounted it is on a stand

i have a spare sound bar and stand should anyone have binned theirs and regretted it
my TV is on the wall and love i, use my 5.1 so no need for stand or speakert. paid around £1,100 from Richer Sounds and it is stunning. At this price i doubt you can beat it for the spec.

Also what's the width of sound bar cheers

Not at home at min but about 30cm less than the width of the set
If you buy an alternative stand you will need one with shelf for soundbar, cant be connected to tv so either sits on shelf or wall mounted, the vesa points are also 40x20 from memory so sits higher when mounted, i had to take down wall mount from previous set and remeasure and reinstall

Do you know if there is any alternative stands that can be bought for this set? The wife doesn't want it wall mounted?

I think refresh rate, some extra processing features, its thx certified, seperate sound bar so a lot better sonically and the silly stand, second remote, no 3d glasses with this set if important to you
You may be lucky and get a returned tv due to the stand, im sure lots will have been returned because of it, its massive and really impractical puts the tv in the middle of the room, due to distance it sits from wall, like having crt again but get it stripped off and wall mounted and looks fantastic as is quite thin with very little bezel
Set has normal issues of tv this size, some vertical banding issues and off centre viewing poor but otherwise great set
The set is only 8bit and brightness for hdr is about 700nits which is quite low for hdr
No issues with light bleed on mine and colours and black levels both really strong
The os on tbe Panasonic tvs is also the best on the market in my opinion

1400hz / 2000hz is marketing bull. Both probably have 120hz screen.

The refresh rate of the screen (1400hz vs 2000hz). Also the 700b is £599.99 from Panasonic outlet at the moment TC-58DX700B
just bought, seen this in currys today...very impressed with quality of picture although not fussed for the stand....over £300 cheaper than buying new so took the chance.
Hopefully will be new condition without any marks, also opted for one of these floating brackets to use with my existing tv stand (110 cm wide unit).
