Bought this saw approx 2 months ago after reading all the reviews possible. Very happy with it, it's a very capable and accurate saw once set up correctly. Only bad thing I can think about it is I paid about £145, ahhhh.
PS, if your register the saw with Metabo, the give a 3 year warrenty (XXL or something like that)

Has anyone bought a good stand for this? I was considering the evolution one at Screwfix with a discount code. Was going to wait for £10 off £40 that should come in soon as they seem to rotate between £5 and £10 codes.

It is a different model, it's not the sliding one it's the composite.

Is it worth buying ? Moving house soon and all the skirting boards need replacing, cant be that hard to do right ? Or should I just pay for someone to do it haa!

That only cuts 210mm rather than 300mm, it also doesn't allow for a -2 degree cut. I also wanted the higher tooth count for finer work.

Also that stand is the one I was going to get as it fits most mitre saws.

However, that saw can cut up to 6mm steel and aluminium. It's big brother features in a good safety video by ultimate handyman on YouTube

I paid £165 for this model 2 years ago and it was worth every penny back then

we have the evolution saw at the joinery factory where I work . if you want accuracy I wouldn't choose it , but it is very versatile . seems a good price for the metabo

KGS305M is 305mm saw blade. The code name gives it away lol. This one here is 215mm so will only cut 65mm skirting in one chop.

That would be pretty thick skirting at 65mm lol. I think you got the sliding one mixed up with the chop saw version. The post is for the sliding mitre saw. I can cut 7" skirting, even 45 degree mitres on similar model with same size blade.

What I meant was the size of the blade matters if you are cutting straight down as it's a better 45 degree cut rather than coming in with the blade on its side. Hope you understand now.

looks decent, only just bought a non sliding draper from the toolstation, does the job just barely but for 75 quid

I bought this last year, cost about £125 I think. Superb accurate cut.
Used it for laminate flooring, skirting and architrave etc. Excellent tool.

No worries. I thought you was using door frame section for skirting lol at 63mm. You did mention skirting in your post.

I nearly made the mistake of buying a brand new saw thinking my present sliding mitre saw wouldn't do 45 degree mitres but it works a treat. It wasn't expensive and is fully adjustable so can check it cuts at 90 degrees. Not a bad idea for all you guys out there to check the blade is square and adjust as necessary each time you use the saw as the small need which points to zero is daily disturbed.
