In order to play the Marvel Playsets (Avengers, Spiderman and Guardians of the Galaxy) you will need just the 2.0 disk (the base will work) but I found that it was cheaper to buy the starter kit as you get 3 characters, 2 toybox games and the disk. You can use the marvel characters within the Toybox on 3.0 or if you buy the Marvel Battlegrounds playset (which turns it into a beat-em-up game) which is also for 3.0.

All of the toyboxes that people have created will be lost, which I highly recommend you download some for future as it extends gameplay considerably. Some are rubbish but people have created some quite challenging games and race tracks etc. All of the online play (multiplayer etc) will be also lost. All toyboxes that you download will be still playable after the switch off from what I can gather. I bought this for my kids in November for Crimbo and have become quite obsessed in trying to collect all the figures (I just dont want to admit to myself yet that I couldve bought a PS4 Pro instead of committing to this game)

No online multiplayer, and you probably won't be able to download user created content either.

The other 95% of the game (single player campaign, Toy Box) will work just fine.

Easiest way to check is to turn the internet of your console off and then turn the game on, as far as i know only multiplayer, downloading toy boxes wont work

I paid £9 for the Speedway in Asda before Xmas, so at £1.49 is a steal...they have one in our closest branch but is still a 40 minute round trip and is tempting to go and buy just to sell. Its a good game too...just loading between tracks is a bit too lengthy

​never played dimensions but playsets can only be played by specific characters but all can be used in the "toybox" where you can build your own game (if you have time and patience to figure it out). There is a lot of scope with it and the untapped potential of what could have been is confusing as to why it was cancelled (ignoring the $100m+ loss to the shareholders). The biggest disappointment is that the playsets can only be used with the specific version (star wars, dory, inside out and marvel battlegrounds can only be used on version 3 and the other marvel playsets on version 2)...I bought all of the playsets from v1 before I knew what I was doing so ended up digging my old 360 and had to buy another starter kit. I personally love it and am on a mission to get them all (I'm now at 86 figures and require sectioning!)

These at not held on the Disney servers, and are on the Sony / Nintendo etc servers.
