Was thinking of getting a Wii U when the prices dropped, but this hasn't really happened.
Am trading in my Xbox One to get a Switch, and will get MK8 from here to go with it

The reason Reggie said that is because if he'd have said "We're aware of people's concerns but we don't give a @*%$" it probably wouldn't have gone down too well. 'Listening to people's concerns' doesn't mean jack.

If you don't have prime and would rather have some club card points, Tesco Direct are also doing it for £42
If people were vigilant and ordered when good opportunities came like when Amazon did a £10 off day, you could save so much I ordered this and Zelda with the BIGTHANKS offer, now on the individual order Mario Kart 8 deluxe only costs £35.45, not crying about price of games here

No one is forcing you to play Zelda in the handheld format? If you want to play on a TV then do. The portability factor is obviously a big draw with other games specifically multiplayer ones such as Mario Kart, Street Fighter etc..

I hope they continue the momentum by releasing more DLC packs post launch.
The DLC on the Wii U was excellent and has kept me playing.
Great price though, just wish it was ready for launch.

would be great to sit in bed or take to work to play at lunch but on the flip side do I really want to play a AAA rated game e.g Zelda and experience for the first time on a 6" 720P screen when I can play the same game on my 55" TV in glorious surround sound in the lounge?

I've preordered but personally I want to go all digital as I hate those little stupid cartridges.
If I had to carry all my Vita games around with me I'd go insane.
Wilza to sparc

I agree the cartridges can be annoying having to swap, and the cases take up space, but I still prefer being able to buy physical, play it, then resell it afterwards for most of what I bought it for.

I'd say the main draw, at least for me, is the portability.
Wait, I thought the 'mainstream console' fans on this site make sure that all switch deals go cold...

Might have something to do with custom firmware being out in the open meaning you have the entire Wii U catalogue for the price of a hard drive.
Currently around 350gb. Mind you, zelda will add 13gb to that.
Once it's fully open, you'll have the entire nintendo catalogue from the Wii U backwards on the single console. Super mario galaxy 1 & 2 play fine already.

Considering the lack of dev time required to keep churning out the same game, I cant see how this is value for money.

For people haven't played Mario Kart 8 on Wii U, this package offers lots of value.. this is one of the best couch games ever made and you can now play it on the go and the new battle mode looks very fun.
I agree for those who own the Wii U version then buying it again is a touch decision but I may still get it for 1080p 60fps and I can play it when I go on a trip next time

The same can be said for most Ubisoft, Fifa and COD titles. This will arrive polished and incredibly playable - I can't wait to play this with my family and friends in April. I pre-ordered it with the £10 off voucher and now its down to £32.60 bargain.

I already bought this on wii u with all dlc. Dont really want to spend £40 on it again. Yes the battle mode is improved but from what i can tell, its the **** battle mode from the wii version. Not the n64 or snes battle modes which are the best.

Considering this is the very best game ever made, people should have no qualms about dropping 40 smackers on this, whether they own the Wii U version of it too or not (I personally have it on disc and eshop on Wii U already).
When I get the Switch cart of this I suspect I'll take it everywhere I go for the rest of my life (or my Switch's, whichever ends sooner).

sorry to burst your bubble fella but amazon reduced this a few days ago. I myself bought the game digitally on wiiu with all the dlc, so I'm waiting to see what they plan on doing for digital customers , reggie said they where listening to peoples concerns so we shall see. I'm not rushing to purchases this since I've already played it and a battle mode for me is not a big deal as there is plenty of content without it . I can wait for an upgrade offer or a sale.

I think you will be disappointed if you think Nintendo will give you any kind of discount unless its for a virtual console release you have purchased on a previous console.

20 Feb 17#17
I believe that was in relation to VC purchases. (Maybe wrong).
Also, I don't think Nintendo "need" to offer anyone a discount on MK8. Sony and MS certainly haven't in regards to their PS3/360 titles being released so not sure why people think Nintendo should be giving a discount on MK 8 on Switch.

It's a good price for the game, Mario kart 8 is really fun. I too played it in Birmingham last week at the open event. It does look really nice on the handheld. From what I saw the Switch looks very promising particularly Zelda.
But to me at least the games I played appear to look no better than last generation PS3 and Xbox 360 games. But I guess you can't expect that much with an under clocked tablet SOC.

Yes, been holding out on buying a Wii U for about 12 months waiting for this. Still think I may have made a big mistake but the handheld element of the Switch looks impressive. Other than that, getting a Wii U with around 10 games for the same price looks much more sensible, and the launch line up on Switch is shocking. Hope I don't regret it...

Please do not comment on whether Nintendo Switch will succeed or fail and save that for another discussion.
Personally I think having a modern MK game on the go with 2-controllers would be a fun experience and this is one of the cheapest deals so far.
