Bought this set from b&q a few days ago. Have used two drill bits and both broke on the very first use!
Not up to the usual makita quality at all, will be taking it back for a refund.
Thats funny there's actually a coffin posted hot on here.

3 separate reviews criticizing the quality of the drill bits, so COLD. Thank you.
If I cannot actually drill with them & have to go and buy another drill bit, the purchase price becomes irrelevant.
I already have some Toolstation cheapie TiN coated drill bits which are completely useless from new. Am not interested in some tat that's marked up because Makita prostituted their brand onto the box.

Also make sure it matches Sds plus or other type in your drill. Some bits are not compatible with the drills. Both have to be of same type to work safely.

I bought this in B&Q for a tenner or so a few years ago and whilst it is good for drilling into mush and soft stuff, it is useless on more dense material.
Better to buy quality than this but it is usually cheaper as well. Not a deal at £20.

Great kit and a great make. Shame I've already stocked up on drills or would have snapped this up.

nope. it's not a great kit. i'm a fan of makita stuff, but only the actual tools. this is poor quality stuff in a makita box. My screwdriver snapped, the drill bits may as well be made from cheese, the hole saws are pretty much one-use disposables, and the driver bits wore out in no time at all.

I have this set and the drill bits are great if you only want to drill through chocolate or foam they are useless, I bought a smaller but much more expensive Bosch set, though it's almost worth it for the range of screwdriver heqds

Yes it's nothing special but ok for a DIY'er to have as a get you out of trouble kit of bits.
