As above, could only carry three so bought three (and split my cheapo bag in the process - ha - had to buy a tougher one)!
The receipt is from last night but there were still a few left this morning when I paid a quick visit.
They also had the Lacura GentleMAN Skincare Kit (Serum and Moisturiser set, RRP £12.99 when it was released in November 2016!!) at £2.50 but I bought the last two :P
"The dishwasher salt does not get into the water used for the wash, instead it is used to backflush the water softener element in the water inlet, and is then drained away. This is typically done right at the end of the wash cycle.
If you don't fill the salt compartment when it's indicated you run the real risk that the water softener element will clog up and then the dishwasher needs to be thrown away.
The all-in-one tablets that contain salt are just a marketing ploy. This salt addition doesn't backflush the element so you still need salt in the compartment."
..though, the "Low Salt" indicator warning takes a long time to appear on my machine!

On the jnstructions for my Bosch dishwasher it says "If your tap water is above a certain level of hardness you will need to add salt",the water in my area and indeed in Glasgow has 0% (or near enough) level of hardness i.e. little or no calcium content so salt is not required.

I still use it just to be safe, after what happened to my sister's machine.

Weirdly, when I was in this Aldi a few days ago (and got the Lacura moisturisers) the price of the Dishwasher Salt had went up again!

For anyone curious (who knows, it may still be in your local store), the Lacura GentleMAN Skincare Kit is mentioned here http://www.intouchrugby.com/magazine/launches-4/
Edit: I can see a recent-ish review for this set where this blogger says her local store marked the sets down to £4.99 (around mid-January) https://skinproducts4u.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/out-of-your-comfort-zone.html

Took another quick picture for y'all:
My sister (also in Glasgow) apparently killed her Whirlpool built-in dishwasher through not using salt (so the repair guy said, anyway).
Don't know how accurate this quote is but it may help http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/dishwasher-salt-whats-the-deal-with-it-then
