The write speed and heat generated are the big issues especially with 128GB and so small to dissipate heat generated ... does this get red hot like the small sandisk USB3 sticks

If memory serves, the USB 3.0 Lexars do not get excessively hot but worth confirming.

Not quite. I setup Wireless AP, DHCP and NAT on it. Then installed Samba so I can kind of use it as AP and NAS when I am not home.

Anyone know if this will be as good or better for use as additional storage space on a Raspberry Pi? I know most would recommend a portable HDD but the more things I have sticking out of it the less reason to use a mini sbc...
