I hope to be wrong though I gather no one has confirmed gaining band 20 yet. I get 4G at home in Hamilton on 3 occasionally though daughters redmi note 3 (with Band 20) sees 3 4G more often (I should check coverage here though 3G speed is not a limiting issue for me.

The main thing putting me off now is not being able to use banking/credit card apps with a custom rom. I know, seems a minor hindrance, but once you get used to logging in with only a passcode - rather than all that cardreader nonsense - you really don't want to go back!

Without band 20 you can forget about 4g vodafone in London . I have the other frequency( i think 2600) working only in central London ( not everywhere ) but outside central London no chance to get without band 20. I had EE before and no 4g signal on my Xiaomi note 4g as well. This is why band 20 is so important for me :wink:

​It means poor coverage on other providers as well as all networks in UK use B20. Remember you are buying a mobile phone not a WiFi tablet. I rather pay more to have all UK 4g bands. Snapdragon 835 is around the corner, so I am in no hurry either to buy a snapdragon 820 phone .

Ah right, yeah it's fine. I believe the February version has some camera issues but the one I am running is flawless (January update) . No problems with core stuff like WiFi, 4G, Bluetooth etc. Really impressed, versus my Nexus 6 it's fast and has more features.

​If you want a custom rom the best place for any phone is XDA forums. Search Le Max2 roms and you will more than likely end up on the right place on XDA . Resurrection ROM is based on CyanogenMod I believe. Fully working on my phone using the January update.

​I haven't tried but I would guess no, as I tried to use Barclaycard app on my Nexus 6 with custom rom and it didn't work.

Seems like a very good phone for the money (based on the GSMArena review I skimmed). My OnePlus One is probably on it's way out battery wise so I will probably be looking for a replacement in a few months and I'd be happy with this (as long as there is no Chinese spyware!)

No B20. No nfc. Lack of B20 means lack of 4g coverage, so not for me

Some reviews( made by bloggers) say battery stands up to 4 hours with screen on, turned on LTE and good signal area. I was thinking about buying leeco but small battery keeps me away. I will wait few months for new Xiaomi note 4 ( hope theyll do band 20 version)

Without micro SD you lose anything saved ONLY to phone memory(assuming you can't connect to computer and retrieve). Pretty much all smartphones will backup photos, contacts and whatever else you choose to the cloud. I do prefer phones with micro SD though they fail too (my 64GB sandisk just died, RMA will replace it though the data is gone-dash cam so no issue).

If the photos & other stuff are really that important to you, you'd be backing-up on a regular, even daily, basis. As you know, even SD cards are not perfect & can go at any time.

The point for me is not the max storage but the fact that I have been carrying a lot of stuff in my microsd for years, especially important pictures. Also without microsd if your phone breaks you lose everything, while with a micro sd pictures and other important things are still there.

I bought the Le Max 2 X820 at the end of last year and I have been very impressed. I did install a custom rom within a couple of days though as what it had was full of Chinese stuff and a real pain. But with the RR ROM it is a truly great phone and the hardware build quality is no different to the high end phones.

Mine was £164 with insurance, 32GB but includes Band 20 so I felt worth it.

No LTE band 20 and only 3100mAh battery. 2k screen with this battery means max 4h watching video before gets flat.

Fingerprint sensor not working

They certainly offer a UK return for about £2 (I took it out, but that was an order from the Spain warehouse).

I have this phone. It's best phone I ever had. Paid £171 on 5.1.17 and received 17.1.17 from geekbuying. The only negative point is the fingerprint sensor. It stops working. It's a common problem with all Letv phones. After reading other forums sounds like both Geek buying and Letv can take 6 weeks to repair N ship mobile back. Mines develop this fault on the 3rd day. I did pay with my credit and already placed a s75 claim which is currently being investigated. Maybe I was unlucky. I have reported to geekbuying N they asked for to post mobile back to them. Hot from me, but you do have to bear in mind that Three do use a lot of band 20 (800mhz) now for their SuperVoice/rural and building penitration for their 4G.

Great price!. Will get a new phone for my younger brother for April but not sure whether to buy this now or wait... Other than the Zuk Z2 I don't think there are any other snapdragon 820 phones for around the £160 mark or below.

I am however quite wary eUI - I bought the LeEco X800 and there were quite a few bugs which, along with the terrible battery life, made me keep my Xiaomi Mi Note (although I upgraded to a OP3 now).

I find that Xiaomi, Meizu and ZTE Nubia seems to have the better OS out of the Chinese UIs. I've had Lenovo ZUK, IUNI and the LeEco and they are more buggy and whilst they all looked clean and nice, they were a step down when it came to software features and had more bugs.

The current crop of Xiaomi, Meizu and ZTE Nubia phones don't really appeal to me though, especially at their respective price points and design hence I'm really tempted to get this Le Max 2 for my brother as he's using an ageing Meixu MX4 which is coming to a crawl with the MediaTek MT6595 and 2GB RAM. I need to get my sister a phone too as the Zuk Z2 I got her suddenly died and doesn't charge anymore. :disappointed: She was happy with how fast it was but now she's back to her Xperia Z3 Compact with the dated Snapdragon 801 and 2GB RAM. Other than the ugly Xiaomi Mi5 I don't think there is any other compact 5.2" or smaller phone with a Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for £200 or less. Not even sure what will happen to this dead Zuk Z2 as the seller that I bought it from (aliexpress) is just ignoring me now.

How are geekbuying when it comes to honouring warranties? I've found buying from aliexpress hit and miss (like eBay) - some buyers are nice and willing to help you out but this time I've been unlucky with a seller that's ignoring my faulty Zuk Z2.

Do these still have the awful black border around the screens? One of things that has put me off buying one of these and software.
