Yes - I was surprised by that.

Well I tried a factory reset (not easy as I ended up with a chinese recovery menu!)

As you say - there other apps to try.

I've had a similar issue happen to me before with a different app. Restoring to factory settings did the trick for me. I hope it does for you too. Otherwise it's a complete incompatibility issue and as you said, that's a deal breaker. Unless you use one of those "tweener" apps like:
Bought one on the weekend and overall very pleased with it. A nice upgrade from my older 7 inch lenovo tablet.
But I've tried installing the dropbox app at it won't run. The moment you start it, it says "Unfortunately dropbox has stopped". I'm not even able to log on so it's nothing to do with my account.
I've installed very little on my tablet so it's almost out of the box.
Anyone else managed to get dropbox working or fancy having a go?
It's one of my most used apps so if I can't run it, it's a bit of a deal-breaker.

I bought the Tab2 a couple of years back and it is still great.
I find the screen is really good, as are the speakers. The Dolby Atmos actually works quite well, even though it's a bit of a gimmick.
High DPI are overrated in my opinion (although nice to have up to a point) and only really chased by Apple fans to convince them they spent their £400 wisely.
For £70 this is a good price, plus you get memory expansion via Micro SD, connection to a hard drive/USB stick, USB controller, etc.

Hi Preecey,
Thanks for the advice. I took the plunge and went for the TAB3 8. It's a snappy little thing and I am very happy with it. I already have a nice little external charger, courtesy of HUKD, so the battery life on the yoga was not a feature that encouraged me. Hopefully the TAB3 8 will hold out for a good few years and not grind to a halt after a few months of abuse

Nexus 7 2012 should've been left at Android 4.4. Version 5.0 killed it
This is about the same hardware as the Yoga, which runs version 6.0 without breaking a sweat.

This will be significantly faster than the Nexus 7 2012, but only slightly faster than the 2013 version.

hi, I need some advice for real. I haven't followed the tablet scene for a while. My 2012 Nexus 7 has been struggling for a while despite all the cache wipe and TRIM. It is just not as snappy anymore like it used to.
How does it compare to Nexus 7? I don't want much, just something like the Nexus 7, but more suitable for all the heavy apps nowadays I guess, more snappy but can handle my missus Amazon browsing and facebook. I found the FB app to be the Nexus killer and had to uninstall it
Cloudane
24 Feb 17#106
I can't recommend the Hi8 Pro less. If it goes completely flat (yes, with the latest firmware that allegedly "fixes" it) good luck getting it back up and running again. It *might* recover if it's left on charge for 2-3 days. It's dual boot in a tiny cramped drive so you can't do much with either OS. The screen flickers (which also has a placebo "update"). £100 or so went down the drain on that!

Bought both
Collected, both shrink wrapped and with tamper-proof seals. Rats. Anyone know from experience whether Argos would accept tablet returns clearly opened if we decide we don' t like one - or both?

As the MWC (Mobile World Conference) has noe kicked off in it's fore, this Lenovo Tablet just MAY end up having a sudden price crash now after all?, hell yeh!, hehehe. :-)
But maybe not for today though?, as it's still showing up on Argos's website as £69.99 ... (but hopefully from Tuesday going would be very cool though?) lol.
Hi Preecey,
Thanks for the advice.
So how can you compare them as like for like?, or .....
This is about the same hardware as the Yoga, which runs version 6.0 without breaking a sweat.
I got rid of my Nexus 7 2012 ages ago, because it was making my hair fall out. God, that thing made me angry.
How does it compare to Nexus 7? I don't want much, just something like the Nexus 7, but more suitable for all the heavy apps nowadays I guess, more snappy but can handle my missus Amazon browsing and facebook. I found the FB app to be the Nexus killer and had to uninstall it
Decide within first three posts I have to have this. Then people point out the things the Yoga beats it on. Up most of the night doing more research. Can't decide which is best.
Bought both
Collected, both shrink wrapped and with tamper-proof seals. Rats. Anyone know from experience whether Argos would accept tablet returns clearly opened if we decide we don' t like one - or both?
Annoying as I've bought more expensive tech from them with none of this security...
When should I pop round to collect mine from you then? hehehehehehe. :man:
You just have to watch YouTube reviews etc to find out how those things are.
E.g. I just read a review on techradar for this tablet and it states it's cheaply built, not fast, clunky...
For the small amount of money you'd be paying on this, I'd rather take my chances with a Chinese tablet.
The Yoga has much better battery life.
This Tab 3 has superior processor and graphics performance, and is also slimmer and lighter.
The PPI is fine for a £70 tablet unless you are using it all day to read really small text. People moan about ppi but then are happy enough to sit in front of a 1080p 23" PC monitor which has less than 100ppi
is the screen really that bad?
this looks to fit the bill as i have 20 gb of tetherable data on my phone now so dont really need a 3g/4g one unless the price is right......
Questionable battery life
Possible pre-installed spyware
Lower build quality
Dodgy screen viewing angles (undoubtedly not IPS screens)
No warranty
You pays your money and you takes your choice
Big downgrade from the Nexus 7
Time to refund me thinks, something is not quite right with this tab
Downloads fine
Cracking little tablet so far
Fired up screen with 50% charge and initial impressions ..... NOT TOO SHABBY FOR THE PRICE !
Box says 2Gigs with is the clincher for me
Argos Ebay do the 10 inch,( though ONLY 1gb ram) version for 85 quid...

Come on people it's not worth it, think of the humiliation.

we've got Lenovo 10" tabs with "crap" PPI and theyre fine for everyday use and even for movies.
This is £70. You can't expect a brand new Full HD tablet for the price you're paying.
thanks
The Yoga Tab 3 has double the battery life.
The processor in the Tab 3 however will be slightly faster than the Snapdragon 212 found in the Yoga Tab 3.
This has two cameras whereas the Yoga Tab 3 has one rotating camera.
Returned the next day - don't do it.
