Had this come through via email. Potentially a useful deal if you don't want a larger handset as this has most of the features of 6S, and crucially 64gb memory rather than the base 16GB version.
Unlimited texts/minutes, 1 GB data.
Enter the code 25IPHSE to drop the £25 up-front charge.

Respectfully disagree, I've gone for 64gb since it was available on the 4S, moving through a 5 then a 6s.
The reason? I've got an iTunes music library approx 28gb in size that I've maintained since moving to a mac in 2006. Back on Windows now (for the HTPC at least) but that's a good half of the available storage on a 64gb handset gone before adding anything else. It then means you've got flexibility to keep a photo library of several GB (backs up to Google photos when on home wifi so can clear it out annually).
Games are often 1gb plus as well.
If you can't get wifi at work or you commute via public I can understand you might use more if you're sat staring at your phone for hours (seems to be symbolic of modern life).
I guess we'll all have our own usage stories but there was always a trend on this site of people favouring android phones that took micro sd cards for additional media storage. Spotify/Deezer etc are great but it seems people still like to have access to their own locally stored digital media.
What will eventually prove interesting (IMHO) is what happens when free wifi is even more readily available - public transport, city centres etc. Even on the cheaper phone contracts, providers give away unlimited minutes/texts even though people aren't using them anymore (due to FaceTime, Whatsapp, Skype). When that wifi is available on tap, how are the providers going to justify charging people £30/£40 a month for what is effectively just a 24 month payment vehicle for a non-subsidised handset and a couple of gig of data.

Hmmm, where to begin with that...?
1. I didn't realise anyone other than 12 year old boys on their Xbox called each other NOOB, but I guess I'm learning forum etiquette all the time, being such a NOOB.
2. Could you point me to this magical £1 deal as I can't find it. Now that could be that the search facility on the iPhone app isn't brilliant, or it could just be that I'm such a NOOB.
3. Even if you can point me to it, you yourself have said it's expired so it isn't much use anyway is it? So can you tell me what other deal I can get that's significantly better than this one?
4. I'm currently thinking of switching to an iPhone SE so am browsing for deals. I haven't yet signed up for this so am not 'angry' that I've made a mistake.
5. How am I acting a t*** when all I've asked is for you to justify your comment that this deal is paying way over the odds, without backing it up in any way? I'd have been more than happy if you could have shown me a better deal but that would appear to not be the case would it?

How on earth is this "paying way over the odds"? This has already been explained above.
Buying the phone from Argos costs £400.

For those who want more data, on the same site 64gb iPhone SE (refurb) on Vodafone ... No upfront phone costs, Unlimited Mins/Text and 24GB of data for £22.50 a month after cash back redemption (have to submit some bills for rebate via cheque) . That's pretty amazing in my book
The £4/month comes from the fact that the £103 (after taking into account the £400 cost of the phone) gets you 24 months of service on this deal. £103/24 = £4.29.
Using your example, after the first 12 months at £7.50 on the Plusnet deal you've still got to pay for another 12 months at that £7.50 to receive the equivalent length of service as you get with this deal. Therefore your total cost over the 24 months would be £400 + £7.50*24 = £580. So your method is nigh on £80 dearer over the 2 year period isn't it?

"Uneducated" because buying a phone you need some smarts to use is uneducated. iPhones have you moddycoddled with how simple they are. Keeping you in tight restraints so you can't go outside of your safezone. Working for a tech support call centre iPhone users are the worst. They believe nothing can go wrong with their phones they genuinely believe they are impenetrable and faultless.

Nujol
26 Feb 17#42
Certainly see your point. My iTunes library is in the 100s of gb so only have a sub-set on the phone. But still 1gb per month data is only a £1pm value if that, I think in fairness a lot of people will exceed that. Note that as I've said it can be doubled to 2gb for a shade over £1pm but far better sim only deals are available I.e. Buy the phone and go sim only.

Good comment. I don't think public wifi will be widely available for quite a few years (maybe in the larger cities) I went abroad recently and was informed via text that calls were £2pm and £1pm to RECEIVE... which I thought was a bit harsh in this day and age, which basically mean't using the free wifi at the hotel and facetime was the only option I was comfortable with. On vodafone btw.. I don't use a mobile hardly at all, so no point in a contract for me, I have wifi 99% of the time so whatsapp and facetime is more than adequate for me. How are phone companies going to continue with these contracts I wonder...
Incidentally, there appears to be an epidemic of people staring at phones, I don't mind so much until people get into lifts or stand in doorways or bump into you - unable to take their eyes of a screen, it's crazy.. I went to the MEN arena a few weeks back for a show, during the interval, I could have counted at least 200 people around me all staring into phones, looks very very weird. Rows and rows of people on phones, and to think when I was in school computers were for geeks haha!

I applaud you! I don't think I use my 6S 64gb a huge amount but I use 3gb with normal use and 4-6gb if I happen to download / stream / tether a lot that month. My point really is that 64gb is going to get filled somehow, at least some of which will be via the mobile network.
Nujol
25 Feb 171#31
The two correlate because a bigger capacity implies in general greater usage, and more usage would imply needing a lot of data, and 1gb is paltry if streaming, uploading/downloading photos, videos, some video calling etc. With moderate use I get through 3ish gb a month (no wifi at work).
Just warning those interested that 1gb is a pretty low usage amount and really is only worth £1-2 a month.

I went to the MEN arena a few weeks back for a show, during the interval, I could have counted at least 200 people around me all staring into phones, looks very very weird. Rows and rows of people on phones, and to think when I was in school computers were for geeks haha!
Just warning those interested that 1gb is a pretty low usage amount and really is only worth £1-2 a month.
for people who prefer small phones, the iPhone SE is perfect.
very capable,powerful and fast.
I have 20gb limit and use 75% of my data as my home internet is slow and when out and about, connection to wifi takes too long imo
BTW I went for the 2gb deal recently and phone came next day. Also FYI EE don't let new customers have 2 lines and it causes all sorts of confusion.
Has anyone figured out a discount code for the 2gb a month version of the deal ? (Others may have also posted the deal too)
To be honest, I get 3GB of data on my O2 contract and other than the month we moved house, I've never even come close to the limit. Mainly used for iPlayer radio/Deezer when in the car a couple of times a week.
Just because you only buy iPhones it does not mean that android is bad!
