Cheapest I've seen it, £44.99 with £2 off if you have prime.
Although this is the physical PC edition, it simply has a code in the box for the play anywhere version (as well as installation disc's for the PC version).
You just redeem the code as you would any other Xbox Live code.
On amazon page:
Play Anywhere This is a Digital version of Halo Wars 2 which you can install via physical media on Windows 10 (64 bit). This Digital version of Halo Wars 2 is an Xbox Play Anywhere game. During installation, you will be directed to redeem a code for Halo Wars 2 on the Windows Marketplace using your Microsoft Account. From there, Halo Wars 2 will be available to install on any Xbox One or Windows 10 device that you sign in to using that same Microsoft Account.

Well you are wrong, this is not the physical Xbox One edition, it's the Physical PC version.
If you actually looked into it you would find this is Play Anywhere as it's a digital code you get.
Even your own link confirms this is Play Anywhere.

just to update you all...I spoke with Microsoft support chat regarding the season pass not showing & he talked me through resetting my Xbox which didn't resolve the issue. He also said this is a known problem and had many people asking about the same problem. He has said to wait for a game update.

The key is attached to your MSFT account, not the device.
I believe the maximum number of devices you can have the game installed on is up to 10 devices at any one time.

Can this be installed on 2 pcs? I have my surface pro 2 with me as I'm spending a lot of time in hotels so wanted to install game and see if it runs. I have a better pic at home so will eventually play on that. Thanks.

I have it on 2 Xbox consoles through game sharing. Not sure if you can do something similar on PC or you are able to install it on any PC with your account on. Just give it a try.

no I don't mind  its sorted now, I installed the disks on my PC (which after 2 hours of installing gave me an error so didn't install in the end! meh) and after looked again on the windows store under my games and it says I now own the season pass and everything else so I'm happy now. They haven't made this an easy process tbh. Thanks all for your help.

OK, I updated windows to the latest, went to windows store & it now says I own all BUT not the season pass, still shows as £24.99, this is without installing the disks. will install the disks on my PC to see if it changes, will update you. Very annoying.

26 Feb 17#60
Thanks for the reply but I didn't install the disks on my laptop, I just inputted the code from the card that came with the ultimate edition straight onto my Xbox one so it doesn't show I own anything on my windows store account? Should I install the disks on my laptop as well as the Xbox then?
MysticalUndies to Flapjackuk
26 Feb 17#61
I didnt install the disks either. I used the code on my xbox and when it didn't show the season pass I got worried. I then used my pc to search the Windows store and all content, including season pass, said owned.
MysticalUndies
26 Feb 17#59
If you go on Windows store, not xbox store you'll see you own it. I dont know why it hasn't linked like the stock games in the xbox store but it states it is play anywhere so should not be any issues.

It's saying 2-5 months on delivery on Amazon. Hopefully they get more, but prepare for it to be sold out. I'm not sure how much stock they put into the physical PC release.
slayermatt to imdurc
21 Feb 17#47
Yeah i noticed that, I don't think there will be much more (if any stock). They cancelled the North American box copy shortly before this was released so I have a feeling the much cheaper in general physical price is just them attempting to move what stock they have before focusing on digital.
Edit; Looking at the standard edition on Amazon it is also listed for "expedited delivery". I mean, logically the physical editions on PC made little sense. The disc is nice to have (less fighting the Windows Store for downloads) but at the end of the day, its just a 25 digit one time use code. The box/disc art work aside there's little more too it.

THE IMPORTANT BIT
To play this on xbox one you have to redeem the code on the windows store (It opens up for you when installing the game on PC)
YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE ITS THE SAME LOG IN & ACCOUNT THAT YOUR XBOX ONE IS ON. (So you cant give one copy a way really)
After you have redeemed fire up the old XBOX ONE got to ready to install & you will find both games in Ready to install section.
Hope this helps & enjoy the game
EDDS to Mac007

I should hope that's obvious.
If you are in doubt at all about redeeming the code, just redeem it on your Xbox One directly.

johnthehuman to whorlow

It doesn't transfer to anything, it's attached to your account. So if you sign into that account on Xbox One, you get the content. If you sign in on Windows 10, you get the content.

Good game I would recommend for Halo fan but if your RTS fan I would be cautious as the game isn't polished yet (Typical Creative Assembly).
Pros:
Graphic and game-play is great!!!
Story is interesting especially as a halo fan.
Cons
micro-transaction for random cards that level up (really not fan of gacha system previously seen on gears of war 4).
Multiplayer matches are too small for my liking, I prefer chaotic 5vs5 matches.

I wouldn't bet on this including the Xbox One edition. Physical games are excluded from Play Anywhere.
Yep, theres a little credit card thing and the 25 digit code is on the back, not even necessary to take the discs out of the box if you dont want too.

20 Feb 17#29
This is a "physical" copy, for some reason its been dropping. Reckon they just want to clear stop ASAP, as far as I'm aware they actually cancelled this edition of the game in most regions. No clue why though.

Isn't these two basically the same thing, or am I missing something?

Not sure why being voted cold. £45 for XB1 and PC version of Halo Wars 2, Halo Wars Definitive Edition and the Season Pass is damn good and a far better price than pretty much any season pass + brand new game combo these days.
