Seen in Sainsburys Ellesmere Port.

Various FitBits reduced including the Charge Hr from £120 to £82 and the FitBit Flex to £35 thats selling on amazon for £69.99 at the time of posting this. Only had pink in the flex in my local and plum in the Charge. Really nice price if you're looking for a fitness watch.

You can even use your nectar points towards it and make it a bit cheaper!

instore deal - see link for Fitbit Flex info only

If you're in the market for a fitness band, go for the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. It's £20 and does everything the Fitbit Charge HR does, plus its smaller, more comfortable and has a better battery life. I'm very impressed with mine (although it did take 3 weeks to arrive).
ScotBoy
24 Feb 17 5 #9
I second that. Wife has a fitbit and I have Mi Band 2 - mine has better software, better detection and better battery at 1/4 of the price. I charged it on 19 January and have worn it day and night ever since. I still have 34% battery.

The Chinese stuff is usually a compromise, but in this case the Mi Band 2 is streets ahead.

Having said that, this is a good price for the brand followers.

Also if you want a continuous heart rate and more options and functions get yourself an app called notify & fitness for mi band. I'm very very happy with mine as well.

I've got both a Fitbit charge 2 and a mi band 2. The mi band is outrageously good value, for £20 it's hard not to be impressed but to those who claim it's better than their Fitbit are off their rockers. For instance heart rate tracking on these devices can be all over the place but Fitbit does a much smarter job of using the data. With my mi fit I'll get a few readings of over 200bpm while I'm sat at a computer every minute, I've never once had this happen with Fitbit. Also be aware the mi fit has no memory to store HR information, if you walk away from your phone or lose connection you record nothing. The whole experience is similar to this, Fitbit does everything either a bit better or a lot better. Is it 4x the price better? That all just depends on how much you value these devices. Again, the mi fit is an astounding bit of kit... for £20.

I'm sorry, but I don't get the point of these. My partner got a Mi Band 2. The sleep monitor is a joke - ridiculously inaccurate. Heart rate monitor sometimes works, and is not dynamic. The only thing it is useful for is telling the time, and counting the number of steps which a pedometer for £5 would do the same.

Am I missing something here? There seems to be a lot of demand for these, but for what purpose?

I use mine for running. Selecting the 'Running' setting in the Mi Band app measures not only your distance, it keeps track of the route and graphs your continuous heart rate so you can see how your stamina and cardio is improving over time. I think it's useful. The sleep monitor works well for me too, I can't tell how accurate it is, but seems sensible in the data it records.

You can also set up notifications for WhatsApp, messaging, FB, etc. etc. which is handy. And it has an alarm that vibrates to wake you up - good for not disturbing others. Worth the £20 price tag I would say, but obviously each to their own.

I have a Mi Band 2 as well. It tells me I've taken 300+ steps while having a shower. The HR monitor takes a lot of fiddling to work properly. As for sleep tracking, I'm not too sure it's completely off but it's not accurate either.
I don't believe the FitBit is any more accurate either, though the App certainly looks good. Few if any fitness trackers have stood up to rigorous scientific testing.

I guess fitness trackers are rather like 3D TVs. A fantastic concept a few swear by, but for the vast majority of us a completely unnecessary distraction.

if anyone is replacing an old fit bit or mii band with something else make sure your phone isn't still trying to use the old software. I had the mii band and the notify fitness app was stopping my TomTom spark from connecting. took ages to identify the problem!!

The Mi Band 2 is durable but the heart rate monitor is either erratic or doesn't work, especially if your skin is dark. There are a few forums that discuss the issue: http://en.miui.com/thread-486235-1-1.html

My wife and son have two different FitBits, the Flex and Charge HR. Look good and work well but the durability is abysmal. A year on one has fallen to pieces and the other's about to.

I'm a cheapskate so got myself a Mi Band 1 at the same time as theirs. It's still going strong.

Conclusion: get a Mi Band 2.

This app is fantastic, I've had no problems with setting up mine to measure continuously heart rate and display all the notifications I want to show up on the screen. I've tested mine against a proper heart rate sensor and the results were almost the same. I've tested it while cycling, running and walking. Read the help and faq section within the app if you have any problems.

Now maybe this is not 'playing by the rules' but... Fitbit are a fantastic company and I can't fault their customer support. If your device were to develop a fault they will replace it free of charge if it is within the warranty period - and if your purchased model no longer exists they will send you the latest version... if you catch my drift... In all seriousness though, my wife wears hers all the time and they are fantastic!

I have the original miband and have had it for a couple of years. I love it, and the app is fantastic, much better than some fitness band apps! Mine isn't digital, but then it only cost £12.... The miband 2 is digital though - a friend has ordered one of these at £20 with free P&P.

How did you find the sleep tracking? I've just returned a jawbone2 because it was so inaccurate, I don't expect 100% but roughly in line with what I'm doing I did have a mi band 1 but it stopped tracking properly after the software updated so I was hesitant to bother buying this new one.

EDIT - As you have literally just answered my question above doh!

Thanks for the app tip.
Downloaded and applying customisation that I always thought should be possible but didn't realise it was.

Not convinced I've got continuous heart rate monitoring set up though. Id have assumed the green lights should be continually flashing, but they aren't.

If i can get that working, coupled with the new customisation it will blow my Charge HR out of the water.

When all your friends that you're in competition with have Fitbits, a Mi Band is about as good as a chocolate fireguard.
