A truly beautiful game in my opinion. Also a great little get away from the more action packed games out there at the moment. I believe it's well worth £8.00.

Do not buy. Suckered in by your Great Game, Best in Genre comments. Sucks.
2 hours gameplay. It's a story on rails with no deviation. Tried to upset Delilah, tried to please her. Same result.
Buy The Long Dark if you want survival best in genre 100s of hours game play.

Great game. But as others have said - play it with an open mind. Ending is a bit of a let down.

I think he means you would never need sleeping pills again, so the effective value..

If you are suffering from insomnia, play this game. A lot cheaper than buying sleeping pills.
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture isn't really comparable to this, other than both being walking simulators at their core. I think Firewatch is the best in its genre, but EGTTR is an equally beautiful game, both visually and in its soundtrack. Both are highly recommended.

Bought it this morning and put in a fairly solid day on it. Loved it. Great story, great dialogue, and so much better than Virginia IMO, which I played the previous day. Yes, it's a walking simulator, but it's really well done. Don't want to say too much on story, etc, but well worth £8 for me. Don't go in with huge expectations, this isn't some AAA epic, I'd recommend going in blind except for the promise of a good story.
Also recommend playing through it in as few sittings as you can manage and taking the time to explore and read all the info you come across (don't worry they're only short). The only negative reviews I've read from players (read after I completed the game) were entirely down to those players having clearly missed big pieces of narrative at the end.

Is this simply a walking simulator or does it have more to it? Visuals look lovely.

It's a bit more structured than your average walking simulator - you're not just wandering around piecing things together, you always have a destination to reach and a map showing you how to get there. There are lots of conversations and fun RPG-style dialogue choices to keep you occupied as well. Compared to something like Gone Home or Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, it's far better as both an experience and an actual game
And yes, the visuals are lovely. Take plenty of screenshots, they'll come in handy as custom backgrounds later

Just finished this the other day. Really don't get what all the fuss was about, found it distinctly underwhelming in a lot of ways.

Gold isn't needed for this, I bought it this morning on a non gold account.
