I got the HD8 and added unlimited as I had prime so only 2 quid a month. Its a lot better tablet with better battery life - I'm glad I did as the apps we play drain the battery in a couple of hours on the HD8 so wouldnt want a device with less life. With this your getting a 40 quid tablet - the HD8 is 80 quid and well worth the upgrade for me.
but think this is good value for what it is and the kiddy interface is great so would definitely consider an amazon device just for that.

Does anyone know if the kids subscription can be stacked? I see there's the option to "gift it" when you load it up, but didn't know whether this could be gifted to add a second year of kids unlimited?

John Lewis is also doing it for £79.95 with 2 years warranty or £99 for bundle with Mcafee LiveSafe 2017 worth £80 in with it . Does anyone know if it's worth getting the Mcafee LiveSafe 2017 for this tablet

I wouldn't bother in any situation but if it's for the kids then definitely don't bother as there is no way it's going to get a virus on it

Heat, the kids unlimited subscription that is included is worth £60 alone.

Bought my daughter the £35 7" fire tablet. It's great. Speed and software is good to use. Was really surprised how good it was for the price.

We bought one for our 3 year old, the customised Android is a real pain in the backside to be honest so it barely gets used.

My son dropped it and screen cracked- sent me a replacement with no problems. Well worth the money for that guarantee with wee ones

If you brick it - submerge in water? No question warranty, right?

Heat added as it's the best price around but I still feel the premium charged for these is too high compared to the standard fire tablet. I know it's not just about the case but they can be bought for about a fiver off ebay, for instance.

If only there was an easy* way of getting Google Play on these :disappointed:
*Yes I know it can be done, but it seems Amazon keep trying to close the door on 3rd party ways of doing this. This can make it buggy, and will probably invalidate your warranty.
Anybody know of another GOOD tablet for kids around the £100 mark? I need to upgrade from our ancient Nabi 2s.
Still giving HEAT!

Was just about to post this. A great deal, I am very happy with this tablet. Great kids experience with no adverts! Worth noting that the 2 year warranty is no questions asked. Kid throws it in the bath...amazon will replace it. For that alone I felt it was better value than any other kids tablet.
