FF7 is the best but FFX is nearly as amazing and has good graphics. Pick that one for starters

I don't see what difference only supporting 8 direction controls or the UI would have to do with the game not being on PS4. If it's on PC there's no reason it couldn't be on PS4, I just think Square are holding back on it to release alongside 8 sometime this year to continue the 30th anniversary celebrations.

I think the ps3 version is just a port of the ps1 version. in the ps4 version, from what I remember the character models are better looking and it has trophy support. there are also cheats for unlimited limit breaks and speed up the game.

Lightning Returns seems really strange at first, but I ended up liking it. It's more fun playing through a second time once you understand how it works, so don't give up.

Thanks, got Lightning Returns. The physical version of that for PS3 seems to be OOP as the prices are jacked.

I use my dual shock 4 on the steam release and it works fine. Can't think of any reason why SE don't release it on ps4.

PS1 games on Euro PSN , urgh those PAL borders and SLOOOOW speed. I advise getting them on the US/Canada or Japanese PSN store

The steam/mobile version doesnt support analog control, you can only move in 8 directions, the UI could probably do with shrinking down as well since it was clearly made for touch controls on the re-release. Maybe these points have something to do with it, I dunno.

4 or 6 from 16 bit era, 7 or 9 from 32 bit. 10 and 12 are pretty good too.

What the above say. FF7 for me too.
I can live with the graphics due to playing it when it first came out (along with the 10 times after it) recently finished it on the Vita too but this PS4 version is tempting.
Also highly recommend FFX. Can't comment on the PS4 version but it was amazing to replay it on the Vita a few years back. Awesome story and the graphics have held up (it's a remaster but still) deffo worth a shot.

VII was the best I agree, but I wouldn't want to force those graphics on a newcomer getting into the series.

VII (7) is one of the best in most opinions. It will look old fashioned by today's standards, but it was out 20 years ago.

PSP doesn't have PSN access anymore, so you now have to go via PC or PS3.

The PS3 has a transfer to PSP/Vita option when the game is download to the PS3. But its easier and probably quicker to download directly to the handhelds. That's what I do, less effort.
