It does say it kills weeds on the box.

More poison you don't need in your life.
Dandelions are an early source of nectar for bees which flower before a lot of other plants. Birds love moss for nest building.
Just mow over it if you don't like it and leave the poison in the shop.

Thanks OP. Voted hot and ordered 3 bags, but I'm not hopeful as every time I've reserved anything from B&Q, they always called me to say it's not in stock.

Just think of yourself as a trendsetter. Lawns consisting only of grass are so 1950's.

My wife probably would as well
she's the one who forbids the lawn poisons, I guess she's right
it does make a beautiful sight in early spring with the carpets of violets then in late spring with the daisies & dandelions
all seems to be manageable just by cutting it 3 or 4 times a year and the garden is full of birds and butterflies
I quite like a 'grass & only grass' section & used to treat a sitting area a couple of times a year, but the weedfs always take it over again within 12 months

Unwanted wild violets growing in a lawn are weeds.
The idea is it kills any plants except grass.

A Weed is a flower in the wrong place by Ian Emberson
A weed is a flower in the wrong place,
a flower is a weed in the right place,
if you were a weed in the right place
you would be a flower;
but seeing as you’re a weed in the wrong place
you’re only a weed –
its high time someone pulled you out.

Iron Sulphate is the active ingredient in this for killing moss and feeding the grass. Around £4 a kilo online. Dilute in a watering can (you don't need much) and it will last the average lawn owner years. If you have a really soggy wet clay lawn try agricultural gypsum first.
However scarifying in the spring and the autumn and the use of a weed puller for the big ones is good enough for most.
