Good price, good machine. I have this model, but I use a 'pod' machine at the moment because it's a lot quicker. Not so much for my black coffee, but the wife prefers the frothy milky stuff, but i am considering going back as this is much cheaper. Or perhaps have both, but then I can't afford the kitchen worktop real-estate to house them easily. Pah, 1st world problems eh!. Good deal though, hot from me.....

had one..broke within 3 months..made good coffee at the time though. use a nespresso pixie now which is way quicker and less time consuming.

Have had to return items to lidl & Aldi in the past although I have bought a lot and generally very good quality... Never had any trouble always receive a refund as long as you have the receipt.

I had the previous model (identical but without the pressure gauge), it worked pretty well, except for some slight leaking around the brew head after a few months, and with that came a tendency to work loose with vibration making a bit of a (HOT!) mess. It is a higher wattage than some of the cheap varieties as it is 1100w. whereas some are only 800 or 850w so heats up reasonably quickly .
For the price I would probably buy it again if I was in need of a new machine, just be careful in case the same problem develops and hang on to the handle when it is running!

Great machine! These are roughly the same quality as the more expensive espresso makers costing around £150! Though not as swish, it still makes really good coffee. I've had the tassimo t discs and this method makes a far better coffee and is so much cheaper. I advise buying the finely ground coffees as they seem to work better. I usually do two lots of coffee and plenty of frothy milk. Makes a great big cup of coffee, on par with your high street coffee shops in my opinion! Drinking one now

If theres nothing wrong with the item you can take it back within 28 days. If its faulty you have a year to return it to any store. Anything longer than that and you have to contact the manufacturer using the contact details in the box or call customer services.

Always wonder what metals they use inside these machines. Other makes after a year start corroding and metals come out of the machine when rinsing it through.

Never had that happen to any of mine! Plenty of dark scale to remove and they all end up dripping more and more as they get old, but no metal coming out!

Bought this when it was last available for £49.99. At £39.99, it's definitely worth the buy. I use mine frequently and very happy with the quality of the coffee produced. Steams milk fairly well too.
I used filtered water in mine in a hope that it will keep it mostly scale-free.

I have always used filtered water in all of my espresso machines (had a few over the last 25+ years in two different water hardness areas), it helps, but still needs de-scaling, perhaps say, doubling the time needed between de-scaling. The kettle seems to be near 100% scale free in the same time-scale, but you pour most of the solids out of a kettle, the espresso machine creates steam for cappuccinos etc. so seems to leave more solids behind in the boiler. Most scale and gunk ends up on the screw-down distributor plate which is the final opening water passes through before the brew head, so unscrewing that and cleaning it about every 1 or 2 months seems to help delay the job and keep it working better and only takes a couple of minutes.

Interesting, I shall try and have a look at that on mine. Even though it was relatively cheap, I'd still like to see a good long life from it. Almost tempted to buy another one as a spare in case the pressure blows out of this one.

bosch tassimo and that is loud indeed so in the morning I don't even want to use as we have the bedroom next to the kitchen… also, can I control how long I want my espresso?

I have had about 7 or is it 8 machines (all this type, 3 or 4 makers) over the years and they are ALL pretty loud, hanging on the them to stop rattles helps and deadens the sound, but they all make a fair bit of din, so doubt you will ever find a truly quiet one.
All manual machines allow you to alter the amount of water, just by letting more or less water through - you can shorten it a little bit for a ristretto, but I wouldn't recommend making it too long a "pull" simply because they all tend to produce a very poor tasting acid espresso if you do this. Better to use hot water and dilute it (Americano).
