Picked these up from Halfords yesterday thanks to the above link, expected a short life but to my surprise they had a BB date of Nov 2026

I think it's actually 90p for 8 at Wilko. They're the cheapest anywhere (excepting 1-off specials) for alkalines. Don't really understand why this deal is so hot when you can buy essentially the same thing at Wilko (which are on most high streets) for almost half the price!
These are brilliant and excellent value. If you have an ikea near you, that is. Our Ikea is a fair few miles away, but I always buy a bucketload when I pass by.
£5.99 for Varta batteries in Clas Holson - they're made in Germany, so you can guess which are better quality and will last longer. Think that's enough said!

VW cars are built in Germany, their energy efficiency isn't that good apparently :stuck_out_tongue:

Would these be classed as Energizer "Standard" or "Industrial" batteries, as I can't find them on the battery comparison charts

Ok thanks for the info.
So it would be better value to buy the 6 Kodak Extralife for a £1 at poundland as said by check_your_bank as these show as better quality on the charts.
I use the Kodak Extralife and they have done me well.
But thanks to aposto for the heads up about these Energizer batteries batteries

I thought it is a good deal. Don't forget to use RDFEB15 code to get 15% discount (5.99 to 5.09) when checkout. Code lasts until 20 Feb Midnight.
Makes sense if you are up for click&collect.
Postage £3.95 extra
