No wonder ebay is in such a bad way. The amount of thick questions on here in just one page is amazing. How can these thick people have items for sale on ebay? How do they manage to run an ebay account? It is frightening.

Have you turned on buyer manage, ent options like restricting to onky places you sell to , must have a linked PayPal account etc ? You cannot block 0 feedback people automatically but these options have reduced my non payers to very little - 1 in the last 18 months out of 1500 ish listings. PayPal one filters a lot as e time wasters don't like to give out info or cannot figure out setting it up lol

Another promo they overlook me for ...
deb8z
12 Feb 17#171
My point was you can get charged if auctions have bids on them :
We strongly discourage sellers to end listings early because it undermines the trust buyers have in the eBay platform. eBay buyers are told that their bids are binding. Equally, buyers expect the auctions they bid on to conclude successfully.
If you end an auction early and buyers have already placed bids, you may be charged a fee. This fee is the same as a final value fee, based on the item price when you ended the auction.
You won't pay a fee if you cancel your auction within the first 24 hours of listing your item, or if we have to end your auction.

The promotion is valid for the first 100 listings only which go live during the promotion period (or were previously scheduled to go live during the promotion period) on eBay.co.uk using the auction-style, auction-style with Buy it now option, or fixed price formats, in an eligible category. When I list something for sale
Under 'Promotional offers' it still shows as:
Sell for £1 max! used-0 & Left-100
Does this only change when the item is sold?, or has the item I am selling not qualified?

As soon as you list something it deducts it from the 100 straight away so if it still says you have a 100 left then you won't pay the promotional fee.
Did you list more than one on a BIN for example as multi quantity listings don't qualify?

There's something deeply satisfying about selling all your high value gadgets on eBay when these promotions come along. It gives you that crossroads decision - do I save my money and feel smug, or just go on another Hotukdeals fuelled shopping bender and replace it all with the same stuff again (or latest iteration with next to no improvements). And feel smug. It's the circle of Hotukdeals life. Thank you eBay, you make me happy, and a bit poorer every day.

Have you actually listed it though, or have you set it to list at a later time? I have set things to list this evening, so they are not being taken off the 100 total yet. I believe the terms state the listing needs to go live within the promo period, that's all.

Have you checked on the desktop site - My eBay > Selling > All Selling and scroll down right to the bottom to Promotional offers, you will be able to activate from there if it is available on your account.

So I clicked the link here and accepted the offer, clicked start selling and listed a few items... My dashboard has no offers though.
I've saved a screenshot of me accepting the offer, you think that will be enough to get any charges over £1 refunded?

I assume so, have 100% positive feedback and nothing outstanding.
Am mostly a buyer due to the crazy fees, tend to use gumtree to sell.

It's under Promotional Offers on your Selling page.
Use a computer (not a smart phone or tablet) and on the menu on the left hand side click on "All Selling" then scroll down the page till you see your promotional offers section.......what do you see there?
LizzyUK
13 Feb 17#207
Ebay T&C
"The promotion is valid for the first 100 listings only which go live during the promotion period (or were previously scheduled to go live during the promotion period) on eBay.co.uk using the auction-style, auction-style with Buy it now option, or fixed price formats, in an eligible category. Listings using the auction-style with Buy it now option will be charged only the listing upgrade fee."
I guess no, your listing needs to start during the promotion period.

Anyone find that despite being accepted for the offer, making sure your items and account are eligible for the promotion, the FVF for sold items are still not capped at £1?
Items definitely listed during the promotional period.
It's not even in the History of my Promotional offers page. I signed up/opted in for the offer successfully and clicked through to make sure only to be told I was already signed up so must have worked. Quite annoyed.. =/
Anyone else got the same?

Mine have worked, but I always check at the bottom of the page to make sure they have been deducted from the promotional 100.
Try contacting live help though as there could be a glitch,I mentioned earlier in the thread I was charged for ordinary listings on two different occasions at the end of Jan and beginning of Feb which were supposed to be free and live help said they were aware of a problem, but if I hadn't have noticed they wouldn't have
They might refund the extra fees if something is amiss.

Weird that, because my invoices from 6 months ago don't show separate P&P charges. I was only aware of the deduction PayPal take from the whole transaction with P&P.

As mentioned been that way since 2013 because a bunch of greedy sellers took advantage by selling say a £500 laptop for £0.01 with £499.99 P&P, used to happen quite a lot, still see the odd (very) occasional listing like that presumably by sellers that still think the P&P part is fee free.
IMHO the smart way to sell, and best way to ensure you get the most out of promotions like this, is to not charge anything for P&P on any of your listings. This way your listing gets the little "free postage" tag and it is another thing to attract buyers as it makes the item seem more of a bargain than other listings where a separate P&P cost is listed.
Of course, P&P isn't really free (sadly) but can easily just be built into the item cost beforehand. To avoid pricing your item out of the market it’s generally best to just include basic or economy delivery like hermes, collect plus or 2nd class mail for free and possibly offer a second paid for option for those that need it urgently e.g. special delivery, first class, UPS etc.
Wouldn’t recommend including international P&P though or it would make the item needlessly expensive for the sake of a minority of international buyers.

I wonder why mine's only just started to show up recently ? I never really reach my 20 free items limit per month. Still, ebay got to annoy me 4 years after everyone else

Thanks
not showing in my a/c though, despite I already got it
Clicked the link... Activated.
Cheers OP!
eBay is fantastic if you like dealing with time wasters. Probably 75% of people who contact me.
Needs to be for 3 days the least
When I login it says - Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired.
Cancel... Relist. No problems.
You don't have the offer
If you've not received this message, you probably don't qualify.
Edit: oops, now see this is already discussed
i get so many 0-5 feedback timewasters who bid and win then nothing.... i think from now on im just going to cancel the bid straight away.. its really annoying
Rubbish.
Thanks again OP.
Pay only when you sell this month
20 free listings per month
Schedule 20 listings per month for free
Really don't get why I'm not qualifying any of these, there's been loads now.
Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired.
From the "My Ebay" page > "Account" tab next to activity & messages > From the list on the left click "Communication preferences" > Scroll right down to the bottom and there you will find "Promotions and surveys"
Click show
Maybe you need to sell a few times before they even consider you? Or, not sell too much?
Yawn.
Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired.
To use this offer, you need to meet the minimum performance standards for sellers. See your seller dashboard for more info.
Selling limits apply'.
i usually relist by selecting 'sell similar' than relist.
tip: after you relist 1-2 items, check in your offers it will say that you used 1-2 and have 99-98 listings left
Hmmm I bet I wouldn't have been automatically refunded though if I hadn't have noticed.
I wonder what it is they have against me! lol
Restrictions & exclusions:
Any item listed during the promotional period but scheduled to start after the promotional period.
Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry but superpanda has a point.
The same questions over and over again? Actually reading the thread may be a good idea.
Is there just very few people getting this?
We strongly discourage sellers to end listings early because it undermines the trust buyers have in the eBay platform. eBay buyers are told that their bids are binding. Equally, buyers expect the auctions they bid on to conclude successfully.
If you end an auction early and buyers have already placed bids, you may be charged a fee. This fee is the same as a final value fee, based on the item price when you ended the auction.
You won't pay a fee if you cancel your auction within the first 24 hours of listing your item, or if we have to end your auction.
Hopefully this will answer all questions asked...
So thanks for heads-up, or I would have missed this offer.
Under 'Promotional offers' it still shows as:

Does this only change when the item is sold?, or has the item I am selling not qualified?
