Great price, but I've started the game 3 times and never got passed much farther than the Hinterlands

I remember reading about people playing it early on and for some reason people thought all there was is the Hinterlands. Bloody leave it, you can go back and do stuff later, Hinterlands is 1 of like 8 or 9 massive areas.
Word of advice for those thinking of going for this, mostly ignore the 'collecting things' side missions, bit too time consuming. Main story and main missions in the areas are are good enough.
I didn't leave it. That's my point, the bits after it weren't any more interesting.

£5 for the G.O.T.Y. version! A pint and a bag of nuts for all of that. Bought two copies, one as a present for co-op. Okay that's two pints and a couple of bags of nuts but still great value after finishing Witcher 3 G.O.T.Y

I'm interested in the DLC, but I don't know if I'll ever see this game through to the end a second time. Anyone know at what point in the story the DLC can be played? Is it post-game content?
larrysanders to Matt4045

There's some content that's midway through but there's also some that is set a little time after the conclusion of the game. The score for the final DLC is incredible.

The Jaws of Hakkon and the Descent can be started whenever, but are best around level 20. I can't imagine you'd make it far lower than that level, you run into some difficult enemies. Trespasser is played post-game, the story takes place 2 years after you defeat Corypheus (or however you spell his name). It also sets things up for the next game, I'm actually surprised it was a DLC considering what you learn at the end is a HUGE deal. Overall they're all really well made and interesting to play. I'd recommend them, especially if you're a fan of the DA series.

I know that Trespasser is a post game DLC for sure, but cant say when the others open up sorry, I would guess you'd want to be at least half way through the main game considering the enemies you come up against in the other DLCs

Interestingly, this was the first game I played which absolutely HAD to be installed on an SSD as it's loading times are otherwise COLOSSAL!
Ironically, it has that DRM which supposedly damages SSDs - I suspect that was mostly paranoia but it's certainly ironic that it needs to be installed onto one unless you like making small meals whilst it's loading (it doesn't so this often but when it does - get that cookery book out!!)
Note: this kinda applies to all the recent Frostbite Engine games (Rivals, NFS 2016 etc.) - all games benefit a bit from SSD installation but here the loading times are more-than-halved!!

That looks a brilliant deal.

Just downloaded it via origin to make sure i don't forget about it.

I bought the game soon after having posted that comment as can be seen in my subsequent comment. I played though the first hour or so yesterday and it seems fun so far and definitely worth £5. I also found out how to use mods with the game (installed about a dozen mods already!) as well as the 60fps fix for the cutscenes.

Easy to get bogged down doing all you can in the Hinterlands when starting. Best to do only the basics there, then unlock and explore other areas, and come back to it time to time when you feel like it.

Can this be set up so it can be streamed using Steam In-House Streaming? If so, does it run properly?
It does I bought it a few weeks back for £15 almost finished it just got to do a few more missions and 2 dlc. at 60 hours at the min so for £5 that's a great deal

This only happened because it was a boxing day deal and I had extra credit in my GAME account. And, crucially, I broke my rule about only buying games that I would play right away. :smirk: Think it was also around the time I upgraded my 7850 to the rx480, and forgot to play it after I installed the graphic card.

The blacksmith characters in Haven and Skyhold both sell a purple amulet that refunds all skill points when equipped (and for any character). You can't change actual class nor specialisation, but you can swap from bow to dagger rogue for example. Costs 345 gold or something.

Good deal, I've been waiting to get the DLC to give this another run through.
Game website seems a little tetchy. I couldn't check out or view my basket, I think because I had a bundle in there from ages ago which no longer exists, and it was causing an error. I couldn't empty my basket to get around (though the mobile site allowed me too). The reCAPTCHA to log-in also only seemed to work on the initial screen, where I entered the wrong password, and didn't on the re-attempt screen. Poor show, Game.

I had that problem at first before realising that Firefox plug-in No Script was to blame. I simply enabled a few of the scripts GAME's site uses and then the shopping cart worked properly.

I thought so too. If the GOTY includes all DLC (I'm presuming it does but these days one can't be certain!) then I don't recall having seen it for a better price before.
