Mine has just been delivered, excellent condition, looking at the video footage I'm guessing a bloke bought it for himself, took his wife and small kids with him for the first flight, she says " is that all it can do " and " HOW much did it cost....send it back" . He forgot to wipe the camera card, male tragedy written large on their faces. Also, his first flight and he flies it out over a lake...what ? £500 worth of kit. Mad or what.

Just had an email from Tomtop selling the DJI Mavic Pro for $1069.99 delivered ( £877 ?) on a 24 hour flash deal
Probably be hit for import duty/VAT on this but shows they are becoming more readily available
Its clear from the comments, these are returns and have not been refurbished, reset or anything else.

Mine arrived the other day and also looks to be in pretty much perfect condition... unfortunately mine didn't come with the original memory card, I contacted Jessops and they said their refurbished drones don't include the card...didn't say that on the sales page...well it does now because they've added it on since I mentioned it and haven't responded for 2 days...
Mine also had a custom name of 'NathDrone' in the settings...with that and you still having someone elses video files, makes me wonder if they have actually been refurbished at all? Or just sending out returned models?
Mine also only had 2 out of the 7 sets of stickers...
People also do an argtek antenna mod and sometimes add a 20pounds amp to the 5.8ghz controller for even more range than 1,5km

This can do easily 1,5km plus using a software mod (magic power mod) for better video fpv and a 3pound windsurfer antenna off ebay.Just join the Phantom 3 Standard Facebook group for more info...
Amazing drone for the money but if you want to use it for professional use I'd advise you go for the pro rather than the standard. Bare in mind you'll also need to get your licence unless its for personal use. Its also worth reading up on the rules and regulations as there getting more strict!

You need to comply with the law. No flying near any other person or any building or structure. You can't use it professionally. For any of the above you must be licensed.

I reached a maximum of about 450 after doing a little hack, but most days and most places the signal would brake up at about 150 meters. Often times on the status screen after pressing the camera button in DJI GO app the signal strength would fluctuate between good and strong interference in a 1 second intervals. Then the range was even less than 150 m and video really choppy and delayed. Same place another time no problem. Using advanced in the same location no problems of any sort.

I've had the standard before but based on my experience I would recommend paying a little extra for advanced. Range and reliability of the connection was really disappointing. If you are happy enough with a reliable connection up to 150 m than you'll be fine.

The Advanced is more than "a little extra", it's twice the price of this. The Standard is a perfect entry into aerial photography/cinematography, for those wanting to see if it's "for them" or not.

Does this mean this dronehas a reliable connection up to 150 metres but not beyond? I assume you mean on a sphere?

I have a Standard and get 800m range. The environment plays a huge part as you need to maintain line of sight (from transmitter to drone). Range can be further increased with a parabolic antenna, but then you're limited by the range of the video feed. That can be increased with upgraded antennas in the transmitter, but that involves opening up the transmitter and voiding the warranty. They're also directional, so a bit tricky to use.

I easily reach 250m with my standard. Its a great drone and at this price is a really good deal.

If VERY do get the mavic back in stock don't expect them to deliver, I and many others ordered back in November to have the delivery re scheduled 3 times to then be cancelled without any reason other than they didn't want to sell them with the discount, terrible company wouldn't buy from them if they offered 50%off you have been warned

Just returned one of these. Really bad drone poor reception as it has the old single antenna controller. Recommend getting at least an advanced one.
Still voted hot as its a good price for those who want one.

I agree this is a good entry. This is a refurb and I was thinking about price difference between a new ones. Used advanced can be bought for about £400 with accessories. Also limited range on a standard is not an issue if you use Litich app and program waypoints for an autonomous flight.

As a beginner I flew on altitude of 50 so there was nothing to crash into. Most times after reaching about 150m drone would disconnect and initiate return to home. I now have the Advanced and without even testing the maximum range I can say it's an astonishing improvement. I went over 1km away and had visuals obstructed by a land mass and still had good video feedback.

When I've seen the 20% off code it says only 10% on electronics?

Well. You can detach the quadcopter's battery from the quadcopter and charge it separately. Meanwhile, the controller also needs to be charged. You stick your smartphone in a clamp at the top of the controller the way you may put it in a holder on the top of your car dashboard for map directions.
