The crash bandicoot remaster is back down to £34.99 at Base again. I personally can't wait to play these games again.

Thanks, pre-ordered. Looking forward to this a lot. just wish they could have put Crash Team Racing in to complete the set. I know it's a different kind of game (racing vs platforming) but would have rounded it off nicely. Maybe DLC if there is enough demand though I guess most people remember the initial trilogy as the CTR was pretty late in the PS1s life if I remember rightly.
Saw the original games vs the remasters footage on digital foundry (on youtube) and the work they have done with it looks very impressive indeed. Of course three full generations on you would expect the graphics to be better but they seem to have managed to maintain the style and character of the originals too which isn't so easy....

Can't you get it through your heads?? The games were that old they had to be completely re-made from scratch for the PS4's CPU and GPU architecture and firmware. You may consider them "ps1games" but the fact is they are not, a bunch of developers have had to make these games, the original code was unusable. Would you work for less money just because you're making the same product or providing the same service that you were x amount of years ago? Would you f**k

People actually buying this at full price makes me lose faith in humanity. If your dumb enough to buy three PS1 games at full price then I have a bag of air to sell you.

Yeah i would have liked CTR and crash bash as well but at least these look like really good remasters. Hopefully theres enough interest in these games so that they start making good crash games again.

I'll wait until its less than a tenner on download. I ain't paying more than a tenner for three upscaled PS1 games.

I bet you paid more than that for Ratchet and Clank PS4.

the ps1 crashes were about 2 hours long if even so say 5 hours game play from all 3 games for 34.99 another money grabber fail.
Average completion time of 6.5hrs for the first game (which rises to 11hrs if you're a completionist), 6hrs for the second game's main story and 7.5hrs for part 3.
hass123 to aliboy86
4 Feb 17#38
2 hours? Hahahahahaha what a joke! These games required skill to play through, each level was uniquely different and superbly designed, and had tons of replayability from the usual crystals, the different types of gem, the power ups, the time trial different types of sapphire, even the secret levels and alternative endings. Even the death scenes were a mastery to behold, probably what inspired the death scenes in Uncharted especially UC 4. Naughty Dog made three platformers which improved on each other and the huge standard of them were well before their time, if something like it was released today it would be praised throughout the gaming community.

People on here saying it's not worth the money when we know this will be an amazing looking game with hours of fun yet most new PS4 games have neither of those things going for them and fall in price within a month or two. We need more fun games that you can play with your mates and if that means remaking a classic then so be it.

4 Feb 17#36
agree, Which is why we shouldn't be pre-ordering it... 35 quid is too much simple as that, people who pre-order games are just being foolish... especially with games that are not "online" and basically have no expiry date, since the price drops after the release date dramatically once it's been out a month or 2.

4 Feb 17#35
really looking forward to playing this, but... Not willing to pay over 20 quid since it is still basically a ps1 game reskinned... i'd wait for it to go to a tenner but knowing sony, that will never happen
darkspace100
4 Feb 17#33
That makes it even worse because it won't ever feel like the same games on top of ancient PS1 designs made by some outsourced company on the cheap.

New art, sound, animation all from scratch, so "upscaled PS1 games" is a bit of a loose term to the guy above. The other guy saying they were 2 hours long, I think you were playing them wrong mate. I also still think they hold their appeal and are good games in their own right now, as there's been a distinct lack of solid platformers in recent generations. Hopefully this gets kids who weren't around 1st time hooked and there's enough appeal for a full scale reboot. Great childhood memories from these games, and I play them on my Pi3 and don't feel they are "mediocre" these days, they're a classic.

I don't care what they have done they are still PS1 games.

If you still have your old PS2 copy you can take it into any branch of GAME and they will insert a microchip on the disc so that is will play on a PS4 free of charge. Was told this today so I'm off to game tomorrow.

Nope.
It's the same price for 3 completely rebuilt games as it is for a single, probably several months old, modern title.
It's entirely reasonable.

3 Feb 17#28
You can't compare this with those original games, this is a remake, using the exact level designs and audio etc, the price isn't reasonable as it is the same price for a fresh new game.

No, he's saying that 3 of them are worth paying a reasonable fee for. A fee that's less than every new PS4 game. By all means disagree but stop misrepresenting the reality of it.
They aren't upscaled. They're completely rebuilt.

Why? It's 3 full games in one all remastered with easily 20 hours plus total playtime. Just because it isn't a big blockbuster franchise like COD or Battlefield doesn't mean it's not worth your cash....
