Just got an email about my preorder with Base with the price being reduced. Seems like the best price atm for the preorder of this and I can't wait to play them again.

Price Promise
Base.com continuously monitors other suppliers' websites and may modify prices accordingly to ensure we remain competitive. As a result, by the time your pre-order of a forthcoming release or your back-order of an out of stock title is dispatched, we may have changed the price on our site. Our Price Promise means that when your order is ready for dispatch, we compare the current price of the title against the price we quoted at the time of your order, and we only charge you the lower of the two.

I'm not throwing any money at it, I've got several copies of the originals.

I tried on live chat but as expected they wouldn't do it directly, not surprised as IME Amazon generally won't price match, though do have very good customer service in other ways. they did take the link for the base price and promised they will review it and consider altering their price to match and reminded me of their pre-order price guarantee (you get cheapest price between time of order and dispatch) but ultimately wouldn't commit to price reduction.
Would too be interested to know what email address you used? (or did you just press the email instead of live chat or phone button?) Hopefully, if enough of us bug them about it they might just match the base price making it even cheaper as Amazon have the £2 off pre-orders deal and a fair number probably have amazon credit/gift cards too.....

Seconded, the 3D platformer seems to have lost it's way in recent years. While I personally think platformers are naturally better suited to 2D, a good 3D one can be a lot of fun, and the into the screen gameplay of crash meant the actual act of playing it was closer to a 2D platformer anyway.
Don't know why the crash series seemed to lose it's way so badly after PS1 but I'd love to see a new game that stays true to the style of the original trilogy.
As to this deal, hot, obviously, though at this rate we might just see sub £30 prior to release. Just wish some of the other retailers like Amazon, Tesco Direct or Coolshop would think about matching this as I have credit with those but none with base....

Remasters/ remakes are too common for my liking. My first console was NES and playing Super Mario (a month before Xmas cos Dad agreed we should 'test it' before packing it back away) blew my tiny little mind but no matter how good any remake may be, that moment could never be relived. I would not buy a remake of a game I used to love. For any game(s) I missed first time around, ok chance to play it now but none so far have caught my interest. My taste has changed toward gaming experiences I have not had before. However for the new generation of gamers, yes, wow, this may be their NES Super Mario experience and I would not want to take that away from anyone. Not for the world. So, (another) one for the new gen' gamers I say.

It's clearly a remake. It uses none of the assets from the PS1 games. It's been rebuilt from the ground up, so how on earth can you call it a remaster? The devs are just trying to make it clear that the new game plays in exactly the same way as the originals.

17 Feb 17#41
I remember playing the sublime Super Mario 64 and then getting Crash on the ps1 was such a let down, maybe I should have realised the only thing that could compete with a that was another Mario game.
Really wish they had invested the time and expense to make a proper new Crash game, Crash badly needs to be introduced to 2017 gameplay mechanics, camera & controls and level design.
Remaster everyone actually wants is the great Crash Team Racing, that could actually compete with the Mario Kart franchise, remake that bring it out at a sensible £14.99 then they could make some coin bringing out a few tracks packs ala MK8.

Guys it's not a remaster. I hate that the developers keep underselling their game. A remaster takes the original game and makes graphical adjustments and other tweaks like increasing resolution.
This is a reMAKE. If you've seen any gameplay or screenshots you'll see that they clearly didn't reuse ps1 assets and everything looks built from the ground.

Personally I wouldn't care if the games were released in the stone age. If they are remaking 3 awesome games it doesn't matter when they were originally released. If anything its better when they remake games that are that old as it better justifies it. When they rerelease recent games I understand when people complain about it but it makes more sense for older games.

Dosnt really look like a remake , and the only information I can find states that the ps1 code was nearly unusable not that it wasn't used ,but they are pretty vague . There is no need to be insulting , I stated that I was going to buy the game and am a massive crash fan but I really wanted a full remake and that isn't what Sony or the company making this have claimed it too be which is a bit strange if it is a remake
