Get the diesel while you can at the price . Won't be long before the government surcharge diesel for being a product of the devil , due to public concern you understand , not to rake in more tax.

The one in Haydock is great (and just off the motorway depending on your direction of travel). I buy diesel and it was 3p cheaper than the nearby ASDA one!
Thanks for the info, nice to know they're building a good network of them!

That great, but you can't compare this to Asda fuel as Costco only sell Premium Diesel, so compare to Shell v power

How long has Haydock had a fuel station? Before this one, I thought only Liverpool & Oldham stores had them in this area.

if Costco can sell fuel this cheap and make a profit then why can't the rest sell it at this price too?? sainsburys is 9p dearer than this ! asda is 6p dearer

Because you need membership to shop with Costco. They make almost no profit on fuel, the profit is in the membership fees.

They don't. They've already been pulled up for selling it at a loss at one point to get people to buy memberships.

Does anyone know if you get the executive rewards (usually about 2%) with fuel?
Also they've put the price of Exec membership up so its a bigger gap between regular and executive so we downgraded this year as we were barely making enough of a reward to cover the step-up in the first place.
toonarmani to heavygoodz

No 2% cashback for the Executive card, but you do get 1% if you have the Costco American Express card.

South of Watford (Gap) there are currently two. Bristol and Thurrock... about as far apart as you can get. I live in the middle. Reading Costco is on "Green" Park - so it very unlikely to get one. Farnborough applied to build one but Morrisons objected. It looked like they were buidling one as there was a perfect space for it, but instead, it's going to be a Costa.
So there's one advantage of living up North!

Pretty close - only a few minutes from J18......however, its by the Avonmouth Bridge so a very busy stretch of the M5 that is often jammed solid. If you are passing at off peak times its fine, but at peak times you run the risk of those few minutes becoming half an hour.

I use the Bristol one, and fill up 1-2 times a week, really easy to get to, only problem is not being able to use a credit card for me, as all work exp. But saves a fortune on Diesel, really easy to use, open early and obviously, great price. Hope they add one to the Reading site tbh

If you get to the end of the year and your "Refund" amount is less than the cost of the upgrade then they will refund you for the executive upgrade! So you can go in and say your unhappy, move from a executive to normal to get the difference back, then switch back from a normal to an executive and try again next year ;P.
As for the fuel, I was told by staff that it is considered a loss-leader. We probably spend £2-£3k there a year, Bulk products can save a ton of money, just be careful because some things are much more expensive than the likes of your local supermarket.

Oh we made enough exec reward in 2016/17 to cover the difference, but with the change in membership fees we would have to spend quite a bit more and it just didn't seem worth it when our net gain from exec was only £2 or so anyway after the membership upgrade is paid.
and yes I check the prices too, we had a long debate to work out if we would still save money even if a thirs of the hot chocolate went in the bin!

So glad they've finally got one at Trafford Park. I use the Oldham one all the time. I do a lot of miles in my van and not so many in the car, but filling both up easily saves enough to cover the cost of membership over the year. Both these Costco stores are very near the M60 and I live between the two so whichever way round I go, I'm now going to pass one or the other
