No, actually, they're the opposite. They have a seal which means that your bread won't go stale, your biscuits won't go soggy, your sugar won't get wet and clumpy, your coffee won't go into a solid lump, and your teabags won't get that weird dusty taste.
If you don't guzzle down these things like there's no tomorrow then they can keep you from throwing stuff away or at least from having not so good stuff.
It also prevents pests and helps keep pets out of them (cat gif above notwithstanding :innocent: )
Also yeah, it's kinda nicer to have these than have random packets laying around. Or, as you'd probably say, I am denying the companies an opportunity to influence me into further consumerism by binning their branded packaging.
