Think you can do better? It's your decisions that count: your budget, your buys, your formation, your tactics...your chance to prove it! Use your skills and knowledge to manage your club the way you feel it should be - now it's your turn.
All football fans around the world believe they know more about football than anybody else; more than the guy sitting next to them at the match, more than the people commentating on the game, more than the manager of their local team.
Championship Manager is the closest you'll ever come to the highs and lows of real football management.

don't these old versions still get updates for current squads and transfers ?
great price if you just want to mess around with it
That's it, i thought it was one of these management games.
I'm rubbish at all of them either way

It's possible I'm wrong here but I do believe that's for the now-known-as-Football-Manager 'Championship Manager' game, not to be confused with this utter crap using (and destroying) the good name of the game made to be played with a joypad on a Playstation.
The wiki would suggest anything from 2005 should be Football Manager, or it's the crap one abusing the 'Champ Man' name.
The original Championship Manager series was developed by Sports Interactive and published by Eidos. In 2004 Eidos bought the rights to the Championship Manager name and produced Championship Manager in-house. Sports Interactive developed the Football Manager series which they continue to do to this day.
I tried every football management game as a matter of course in these days, Championship Manager 2007 and 2008 aren't worth 5p. If you want to try an old and good Championship Manager game look at 01/02. You can download it for free as linked above, people are still working on unofficial squad updates every year.

Problem is Ftooball Manager 2017 has terrible ratings due to their idea of making the game revolve around social media. And FM 2016 has been removed from Steam.

I'd love to get hold of the old championship manager Italia. That was fun with loads of legends in it. Think it was around 1993?

Should be to at least pick up an emulator version of that, I expect.
I wish it was Championship Manager 95/96, the last one I didn't suck at

Most of the poor ratings are from Chinese players because there was no Chinese translation that was allegedly promised (More of a "If it sells X amount we'll think about it")
