Might be a reason for old folks to steer clear, but for young 'uns, there might be a health advantage in that. There's evidence that childhood exposure to common microbes builds up the immune system and protect against allergies and asthma.
Oh, and heat for the deal!

Yes I really am, I went with my little boy and when he was choosing some I saw dead flies. He was upset not getting some so I bought him some sweets in a packet instead.

They're literally attempting to kill me with this deal. Is it just me or are they weighed bags always better value? I tend to fill a cup then tip the contents into the bag to price it up and it's usually a bit better value but I suppose it depends on what you choose.

Depends how good you are at filling the cups up  last couple of times I've filled a large cup, I've weighed it when I got home, and it was MUCH better value than having gone for weighed bags. Can't remember exactly, but think I had about 800g in there last time!

Thanks for bringing this to people's attention and also for citing a reference. Wish more people could back up their statements! Still, bacteria or none; old or young I'm getting me some sweets!

I'd heard she and her friend did it between them, and I did find a video when I googled, but it was useless, nothing to do with pick & mix, no help at all.
I'm pretty sure neither of the two girls was David's girlfriend, and the one cup they had wasn't a Candy King one.

Ipswich wasn't particularly well advertised. They didn't have any big lids! And the staff were rude when I wanted a paper bag to help seal them.
