I bought this a year ago for £60 from Hughes which seemed like a good deal at the time going off the EU efficiency/performance classes
Energy: A
Hardfloor: C
Carpet: C
Dust re-emission: A
Has an analogue dial to adjust power, which you need to not to rip the carpet off the floor
supposed rrp £249.99
Also, since John Lewis are stopping stocking Bosch vacuum bags, they have 4-packs on clearance for £2.50

?!?! the wattage is irrelevant, its the pickup performance that matters
vacuum cleaners are going towards low wattage to comply with regulations

At 700w, i cannot imagine it being powerful enough to rip the carpet off the floor. I don't have one, so i'd love to be corrected. If they really are that powerful then i will go and buy one now. But i can't see any mention online about it being so much better than anything else out there.

I have this vacuum cleaner. I have to use it on the lowest setting on the analogue as the suction is so powerful! It really does pull off the carpet!

mine got 1800 w. bought it cuple years ago. very good. that's why I imagine 700 w its not powerful enough. but as long people say it's very good I go with them. anyway, it's a very good find. heat added

The new Henry hoovers have 620w and are powerful enough
Wet and dry vacuum cleaners are exempt though, as are cleaners with extra wide brush heads intended for commercial use.
I wish a manufacturer would do a wet and dry cyclonic cylinder cleaner, both to get around the stupid wattage regulations and to suck up spills, save me getting out the bulky workshop vac or the carpet cleaner.

Air watts which I believe takes into account both the amount of air flow and suction power, seems to be the best guide.
My vacuum has a 1,800 watt motor at full power and was rated at about 380 airwatts. I wouldn't want to go back to one with poorer suction as it makes a hell of a lot of difference to the amount of dust and dirt removed from deep down in the carpet.

I received the new Bosch hover yesterday. after testing it all I can say is that the suction power its much less (I can say it's poor) than the 1800 w Bosch Hoover i already have. even the accessories are very poor material. Bosch it's not what used to be.
