Great price for a desktop charger with 5 ports and support for iPhone, iPad, Android, etc with ports delivering up to 2A each.
Some reviews from 2013/2014 report US/EU plugs but more recent reviews do not report that, and the listing pointedly says UK Plug in the item name.
There's also a listing for it in black for the same price, great if you are already a Prime subscriber but even with non-prime delivery charges, still a very good price.

Would this charge faster than a normal charger?

If it's like most change hubs on Amazon they are fitted with a figure 8 lead anyway. Many don't have a BS plug fitted, no fuse, something claiming to be a fuse but isn't or a 13 amp fuse. The pins are probably the wrong size the plug shape isn't legal or earth partially insulated. Best thing you can do is throw the lead and buy or find old one that conforms to British Standards. Fit the appropriate fuse and sleep a little bit more soundly at night.

Had one of these, lasted 5 months. Customer service was / is crap. They told me to send a picture of it not working, wtf.
I paid over 15 quid, even at 4 quid it's a waste of money.

i wouldn't a £3.99 multi usb charger, I've seen cheap chargers that have the potential to burn houses down and electrocute people!
Fair point but if that were the case with these I'd imagine there'd have been one or two reviews commenting on it. There aren't.

wow, that really is eye opening. Thanks. I can only hope that the same cant be said for a £3.99 usb charger (i'd have it tested properly before i used it!!)

Look at all the people giving it heat, or is it something else generating the heat

Id be wary of comments. I've been contacted by third party sellers asking me to change my review for a free product etc. Sadly some people do this and you don't find out how dodgy the product is.
Not always the case obviously, but it does happen.
That is only 20W (4A) though, not 40W as per this.

That's a fair point. And you could certainly argue that it's impossible to produce a safe charger, even in China, for the money - given that the £4 has to cover manufacture, shipping, profit, plus whatever Amazon charge them for Prime delivery.

I accepted delayed delivery in return for the usual £1 Amazon Prime credit - I imagine mine will be cancelled too. If that's the case it's a warning not to go for the delayed delivery. I always assumed they allocated the stock once the Prime order went in and just didn't provide the usual next day delivery.

Has anyone tested the actual output on theirs yet? I just tested mine with my phone plugged into each socket, the Samsung labelled socket read at 5V/1A and all the others read at 5V/0.35A, all with just the one device plugged in each time. My phone does draw 5V/2A off a good charger. I will say that the voltage seemed reasonably stable, small fluctuations and all virtually bang on the 5.0V mark, unlike some cheaper ones I have tested which varied from 4.8V-5.6V.

8 Feb 17#37
what did you use to test it I hope mine is not giving out those ratings that's pathetic I'll send it back no good to me needs to be 2a on the three ports as stated otherwise might as well use the old chargers take forever to charge

I have a cheap in line USB tester, mine looks like the first option on this listing.

Did a little more testing, used a tablet this time with screen on, plugged into another wall charger, steady 5.3V/1.6A draw. Then tried in each socket of this, every single one gave 4.8V-5.2V fluctuating slightly and 0.87-0.93A. I'll probably need to test it a bit more, eg. multiple items in at once and use the tester on each one but it seems to be only 5V/1A per socket really. Unfortunately I don't have an iPad to try as maybe that will attempt to draw the voltage the charger is expecting to give out or something, one of the reviews did seem to suggest the iPad 2A sockets only work properly with iPads.
