hope these have improved. first one returned after one use and the replacement lasted less than 6 months of light use.

Yep, these are truly crap. Too big for craft and too small for day.

Most amazon buyers seem to disagree with you 1125 - 5* Reviews.

Probably all bought as gifts for someone else.
Seriously though, I'm not trying to be difficult, but I really don't see a place for these. I have one sat in my cupboard gathering dust as it's useless and the sand paper costs disproportionately too much and doesn't last long .

I have this exact model and have to disagree with N1Andy. Granted this will always be something that spends 360 days a year in the shed, as mine does, but I've never had a problem with it when I have used it. I've used it for wall and ceiling prep prior to painting (so sanding plaster and filler) and sanding garden furniture (wood) and it's been fine.
Obviously not for professional use (as reflected in the price) or for massive areas (but I don't think anyone thinking about this sander is contemplating sanding a whole wooden floor with it) but for what it is and what it costs, it's great

I had one of these, I used it for about 5 mins then it went POP and stopped working.
Then again, my parents have had one for years and use it regularly with no problems?
This price is pretty good, as long as it lasts you?

Refuse to buy from Amazon since all the Prime nonsense. Non-Prime should be the required headline price on HUKD. BTW most B&D tools are very poor these days - I have a similar WORX sander and it's excellent.

Had one a while back, lasted well and did a good job of sanding but the sand paper is very expensive. You would be better off spending a bit more for one that takes standard sand paper if you are doing anything more than minor work.

I'm in need of a sander to sand some door frames and bannister, any recommendations as to what to go for? Was thinking of one of these, but maybe not after reading the comments. Maybe something a bit heavier duty?

Bought these last week to sand some cracks in my ceiling and I've been more than impressed. Like any sander the dust goes everywhere so sheet up.
