Bought these a few years back, a must have if you haven't already got them. The 3d is absolutely amazing in both films

Just don't buy a TV this year or you won't be able to watch them in 3D.

Once there's none being made at all I don't think it will be long until the 3D discs stop too.

Nice, I remember paying crazy money to get the avatar promo disc when 3D was in its early days

Titanic is one of those movies that I was crazy about when it first came out and since time has passed I've gone right off it and don't even own it now.

They'll still be made as long as there is demand. It's mainly Sony trying to force people into upgrading everything to 4k to rake in more profits. Some films like big blockbusters, sci-fi, superhero flicks, will always provide the best experience in 3D (to me at least).
Don't forget the PSVR headset will soon be able to display 3D films, which will be the best way to watch 3D content anyway (regardless of whether your TV has 3D compatibility).

All he said was he's interested in HDR. Why are you damning him for it?

'Cos I'm sick of people banging on about 4k when most of them don't even realise the size of TV you need to see any noticeable benefit. And specifically - what the hell has HDR got to do with a thread about a 3D film deal???

Great deal for those who don't already have both movies.
Comes in 2 separate bluray amaray cases, so if you have one already you could give the other one as a gift.

One of the few useful features of a 4K TV is that it can show passive 3D at full 1080p resolution. So it's a bit of a shame that the manufacturers have decided to give up on 3D.
Went to watch a 3D film on my Sony the other day, and found none of our active 3D glasses would accept a charge - must have let them discharge too far :disappointed:

They haven't, but a few manufacturers don't have 3D on this years models. That's not to say that it won't be back if sales drop because of it. But I certainly won't be buying a Sony TV this year.

Panasonic have a really nice range of 3D tvs this year.
The only thing is the 3D version of Avatar is not the extended version

You're right, the extended version wasn't released in 3D which is a shame.
This is still working with the discount code, so maybe ends at midnight, who knows with Zavvi !!!

Wrong, everybody has different eyesight so saying that you have to sit X far away with a X size screen to notice any difference is ridiculous. The majority of difference is made up from the bitrate of the content you're watching.

Zavvi have put the price up to £13.99 without the 10% off code, so now £12.59

Only got the Titanic 3d
but the remaster to 3d on this is amazing, one of the best.
Puts Universals Harry potter 3d to shame considering they were made in 3d not converted.
