Just installed mine, the cpu socket pins are bent... so now it looks like I have to send it back.

Pretty much yeah, unfortunately we buy a hell of a lot from overseas companies.

As above, I have no idea how this corelates with our economy growing. Does it just affect the buying of foreign goods?

The pound has already dropped around 20%.

Economics baffle me frankly. All I see on a Wednesday is the economy growing in spite of all the hysterics about the imminent collapse of society following a yes vote. Yet the pound is still weak, I'd try find an economics for dummies guide if I wasn't so apethetic about something I can't change.
On topic.. I was really excited about this deal until I saw it wasn't mITX, still hot though.

I'm sure some of that goes on but the pound has dropped significantly, that is real.

Thanks for this. After a bit of digging I also sussed out that the A has generally more connectivity - e.g. 4 DIMM slots instead of 2

Ye It really is something silly like that asus are just flooding the market with boards it's really stupid for all that's upgraded, this release of borads are a total mess.
Asus with there throw everything at the wall and see what sticks approach , msi and gigabyte have voltage issues across there entire range and are still trying to fix with bios, evga has the same very small range of very well made boards which I like, this gen they they look bland though and cost loads but the idea of these few well made boards are what were doing, I like, none of this 27 different boards with an extra m.2 or wifi and extra usb 3 port, a's & b's & k's & z's geez what a mess.
last gen asus sold the z170i pro for £120 gr8 little board and an ok price, has all the power of the big brothers in a small package, it looked good, was well made and had everything you need, now with only a bump in memory speed and 4 lanes on the chipset they all want £170+ for itx boards ( asrock with there itx fatality is well over £200), lol wtf is going on, are they high?

Stupid question - whats the difference between this mother board, and this one:
Better price than those crazy £150+ boards, even itx with the cut down usb/sata/pcie are just ridiculous at £170, in-fact it's not so much the cpu price/perf that puts me off intel now but the insane price of the motherboards that all these company's are putting out, ill wait for ryzen but if there boards are priced high then i'll be holding on to my setup for some time to come.
Ok I can spend on the cpu and gpu but the gouging with the boards I can't condone buying the new platform esp with the minimal upgrade, ddr4 is going the same way, these are what puts me off buying any new cpu, you really are paying just as much for a board now it's no wonder pc sales are dropping look at the price there asking, they've only themselves to blame imho.
