This is a fantastic place to eat, really good quality, large, hot jacket potato with lovely skin for £1, 4 different toppings, including my fave - cheese, beans, butter.
Breakfast butties including vegetarian sausage, £1. Slice of pizza, £1.50. Whole large pizza £6. 2 hash browns 50p in morning. There is a machine to help yourself to free filtered cold water with cups on it. Soft and hot drinks are self-serve, you're just given a cup
QUite a lot of ASDA stores have them but annoyingly they have a terrible website with no filter+search options. You just have to search for your area and click on individual stores. Then look for "Express Diner" under facilites. Opening hours are not listed and it's hard finding out from Twitter or calling! I have now found out ASDA Eastlands in Manchester is open until 7PM Mon-Thu, 8:30 Fri+Sat and 4/5 (not sure) on Sunday.

These are the standard prices, so it's more of a 'heads up' than a deal. Lots of people might not realise that the Asda cafe is so cheap or that the food is actually pretty good quality.
It's annoying when they say they have run out of bacon, tea cakes, or something though because you just think, 'The shop is 20 feet away, go buy some ffs'. The Altrincham one didn't have sugar for about fortnight a while ago...

I thought the same in a Morrisons café. I wanted the Heinz Tomato soup but they said they had run out. I later then went back into the store (Some 20 yards from where I was standing in the cafe) and VOILA loads and loads of cans of Tomato soup. You have to question the logic right?

It should be available for Valentines Day. Push the boat out and get a cinnamon bun too.

Yeah, you gotta love Asda. It keeps the riff raff out of Sainsburys.

Bring back Lyons Corner Houses, especially after the lunch rush, when the staff would load your plate 15cm high! However, although no ASDA near me, can't argue with these prices.

Apart from the fact, Asda is vile generally, the plethora of screaming kids running around whilst their mothers ignore them to have a natter with their mate is enough to put me off.

You don't get that in Waitrose because the kids are being taken care of by the aupair

Last time I visited an Asda cafe, the word 'fantastic' certainly didn't spring to mind.

This is also available in the Redditch store. The £6 for their pizza is well worth it.

These are good value. The pizza is nice and, in ours anyway, you get a good sized portion of chips. You can also ask them to make a full pizza (£6) up from slices of the various ones out for sale, ie.you don't have to wait for a new one to cook. It's a shame they don't do hot chocolate though.

Does this mean that Asda are getting rid of the super slow business of queuing after you have collected your hot food so that it gets nice and cold?
