Nice price but as with most Argos deals none in stock near me and not available for home delivery...
Yes, I believe it it both that and Dolby Vision (whatever that means!)

HDR10 is a content format. This will accept HDR10 content and being an OLED has pretty good HDR display abilities, especially in darkened rooms.

Only comes with a 1 year warranty, whereas the likes of Richer Sounds, Crampton & Moore and John Lewis offer 5 or 6 years around the same price (sometimes needing a price match).
For example: Phone Crampton & Moore and they'll do this TV for £1,599 with a 5 year "no quibble" warranty.

If you turn all of the processing settings off, the picture is pretty good. I always test TV's with some really low quality stuff, (4 music,) and my C6 does a good job; the image is clear of artefacts and the motion is good. There is a bit of detail missing in comparison to my Plasma, but it gets much closer than any LCD/LED TV I've seen.

John Lewis won't price match unfortunately, they said:
"Thank you for your email. Sadly, we are unable to include the use of the voucher code "TVS10".
Our Never Knowingly Undersold policy states;
"The competitor’s prices need to be publicly available to all customers. For us to verify these prices, they need to be displayed in the competitor’s own shop or on their website.
We do consider temporarily discounted prices, including any publicly available voucher codes that are published alongside the product at the point of purchase, or on the competitor’s website."
This voucher code is not publicly available on the competitor’s website meaning we are unable to match the price obtained with the use of this voucher code.

No one can predict the future, but I will say this, I've been after one of these for a while now, I monitored the prices on the two previous generations, the lowest I saw before they went off sale was £1300. Some refurbs still turn up on the 2015 sets for around £1k, but due to HDR, in general people arn't really willing to fork out a grand on an "obsolete"(I use that term very loosely) - tv. If you are expecting a new OLED to drop to a grand or less, IMO you'll be waiting a lot longer than 12-18 months. No doubt these will be knocking around online in refurb form at that price at some point, but refurbs are usually returns due to panel issues IMO - i'd never touch them specifically in TVs - but had plenty of other refurb stuff in the past.

Bought this Sunday and expected a collection Fast Track from 9am. Not arrived at the store. Took half a day off to collect this. Advisor said the item could be anywhere and had no idea. Was offered another 10% off any other TV (?) or reorder and see if one turns up in another four days time. AVOID.

Just making people aware of the HDR gaming issues with this TV:
Apparently there is a firmware update out stateside that has corrected the issue and bought a game mode to the model. The EU update is apparently *imminent*. In game mode the input lag is reported to be around 30ms which is much more manageable.

I haven't the money for the C6 and the calibration as well Jayjay. I've used some of the calibrated settings on the forums but this results in strange results in low light. Dragons Den is a good example. It's only SD where a touch of detail is missing. When I had a LG LED a year ago for a week, strangely turning the super resolution setting to high gained a great deal of detail. On the C6, this setting seems to do nothing.
jayjayuk1234
9 Feb 17#31
Yeah, calibration is expensive. The forum settings are useless for me also, every set has slight differences but without greyscale calibration you will lose some detail, most people don't notice but clearly you have.
SD doesn't have a great amount of detail to begin with, and things like 'super resolution' just adds a false sharpness to the picture, so this maybe what you're seeing

I could have bought this very tv for £1500 last year in June direct from lg but was told no by my other half even after telling her it was £2800 in currys. Can still buy at that price now but will wait till June again to see what comes up this year. Although very tempted by new Samsung q7,8,9 series so be good to see prices on them. Personally would say don't buy this until the sammys come out as they will be around this price with potentially better visuals

How many times are you going to post this false info?
It's from AVForums, and is already proven incorrect, the help desk staff don't know apples from oranges
An example, they replied to someone else last night with this response
I highlighted the part about the chipset, because the B6V has the exact same 'chipset' as the US B6P, so he hasn't a clue what he's talking about.
No point at all quoting anything from LG help desk, its just a call centre, they are useless for information on these type of queries.
As i mentioned in another thread, there are likely other fixes being applied at the same time

If you had bothered to read the thread there you would see that emails from Steven Beaman (UK General Manager) stated the firmware was being worked on and there was no such 'decision' to make.
You clearly have no interest in the TV, or probably unable to afford one, so can quit it with the false information you posted in both threads.
OLED is a great deal better than Plasma, which is why most were replacing their beloved Kuro TV's with OLED over at AVForums.
Curious how your TV plays PS4 games perfectly though, i thought that was down to the PS4

Also, money is irrelevant? yet you're posting on a money saving shopping forum.... something doesn't add up

Yes Jay, I've got a feeling that its not a case of the OLED being bad on SD, more a case of the Plasma being exceptional. If only I had the room for both the 50" Plasma and the 55" C6 in my living room. First world problems.....

10 Feb 171#48
I stated the picture quality was most important and this TV looked amazing, I also pointed out some obvious design flaws, I am viewing two deals regarding this TV (not every OLED thread) as I am a prospective buyer and I am trying to establish whether or not it has any shortcomings before I buy it like any other savvy buyer would. Regarding your comments on money saving, I take it in your opinion people with money shouldn't strive to pay the best price for a product...
And the level of this defensiveness is questionable, so yeah something doesn't add up alright. And I'm pretty sure the rules of HUKD states no promotion is accepted.

Also, here were your comments
Lag, Judder, Stutter, Image Retention, Bad Efficiency, Low Brightness, Bad design for mounting, Expensive
Shall we go through all of these??
1) Lag - Fixed in upcoming firmware, however i frequently game and haven't even noticed an issue on current firmware
2) Judder - Firmware bug which was fixed in an earlier firmware
3) Stutter - Affected some TV's which are believed to be faulty
4) Image retention - OLED doesn't really suffer from this like Plasma, but effecttively every display type is susceptible to image retention
5) Bad Efficiency - OLED uses more power than TV's like edge lit LED, but not a massive amount more, for obvious reasons... this is obvious and not poor efficiency.
6) Low Brightness - Completely false, peak brightness not as bright as LCD based technology, but still more than bright enough!
7) Bad design for mounting - It could be better here, but there is no way to keep the panel extremely thin and make it wall mountable as you suggested, there would be nowhere for the screws to go. So LG had to either make the whole screen one thickness or make it as it is now. It is an entry level OLED, their extra design and expense went into the more expensive models in this range.

10 Feb 17#52
This was quite informative so thanks for taking the time to point this all out.
The upcoming models are actually thin all over and still wall mountable from what I've seen. And the efficiency will surely be improved as well and it's only logical to predict OLEDs in the A+++ range within a few years. These are the points I was trying to make in regards to the technology being in its infancy.
Obviously one can always put off buying tech based on better iterations coming in the near future and technology never stops progressing so one could wait forever and miss out on the here and now.
I may just buy this set and then upgrade it in a few years. Still worried about the lag however... And it's the only point you make that is questionable. Do you have a source to the effect of an upcoming UK firmware fix for HDR Game Mode? Is it in fact coming for sure?
jayjayuk1234
10 Feb 17#53
The HDR update was confirmed by LG's Uk manager Steve Beaman, the only doubt was from impatient folks at avforums emailing LG Help Desk every 5 minutes and getting various different responses
I believe it's not out in the UK yet though. Hopefully it will be soon.

however, he may be sick to death of emails regarding this.
As for the 2017 models, they aren't as thin as the B6 at the top half, it's wafer thin and impossible and unsafe to have a mount here.
